Coinbase ETH is down and since it was outgoing transactions that stuck, I suspect that there is a lack of BTC/ETH pairing, causing less BTC buy pressure and less ETH available.

When CB ether is fixed, its gonna be choppy.  Rest!

I am more trustable than you.  Those cbags who trolled me can get bent.

I think BTC reaching 4k + is possible but ETH reaching 1k will take some more time because BTC price rising is normal and it is genuine due to global acceptance but ETH price increase is fully PUMP and any time it can burst it.

If ETH reached 1k, I'd pretty much lose faith in all cryptocurrencies' ability to innovate without everyone giving up on an entire currency every couple of years.

Immutability is a great characteristic but if ETH gets that far it'll show that decentralised innovation like Bitcoin promotes is not good enough to stay dominant.

ETH 1k and Bitcoin 4k would have ETH at a higher market cap than Bitcoin (not that market cap matters, but it's the only measure I can think of).

I'm sure posting bots would exist for bitcointalk due to the high rates of signature campaigns and people using many accounts, but this one surely made a blunder.
Or OP could be drunk posting.

So why is ETH is going up with bitcoin just like that.
I thought I have read a lot of people here telling that when bitcoin is up altcoins are down.
Now this is different. Just one change and it could be just like bitcoin.
1k is a lot of money. This better be a good story.

Slightly different fundamental reasons behind it, instead of maintaining a price relative to Bitcoin now it's a shift to diversification and faster processing that is behind the rush towards a second best choice coin.
That said 1K could happen if bitcoin hits 4k and eth is 1k though it would mean eth 0.25 from 0.1 though plus exceeding Bitcoin market cap so still a bit of a long shot.

Yeah definitely  Grin

Coinbase issue may not have any relation with BTC and ETH price moves because it is just one of the many trading platform where BTC and ETH is traded also trading volume there is comparatively small.

This! There are plenty of other currencies out there that offer much more useful innovations to the community than ETH. The main reason for ETH keeps growing is because it's in a bubble of it's own which will eventually burst. I don't think it will crash to it's low point of $7 this winter but it will see several major dumps before it gets to $1000. By then BTC will have long since passed the 4K milestone.

Except 60 million Ether were premined (ICO). This is majority of coins of current Ether supply. All what Ether offer is a lot of people spamming Ether posts at Bitcoin related sites. Other top altcoins have market cap not far from Ether, but I dont see such amount of annoying spam posts about them.

Market cap does matter, the problem is - people often misuse it with nonsense like "Bitcoin lost 5 billions USD of its value over a few hours" to sound more dramatic, while the real purpose of market cap it so compare value of assets against each other. Different assets have different  supply, so by multiplying the price of a single unit by current supply you can get an idea of how expensive the asset is.
ETH 1k vs BTC 4k would mean that for some reason there's more money invested in ETH than in BTC.

So why is ETH is going up with bitcoin just like that.

I don't know the exact reason but ETH is heavily popular among people who just heard the name "bitcoin". It is probably because they think they missed the bitcoin train and they are buying the next thing which is close and has the most potential. Being able to mine at home without having to deal with the Chinese mining companies like Bitmain is also another plus.

To mine bitcoin you need to buy an antminer. It is expensive, it is hard to get. It mins only bitcoin (and some useless shitcoins, in b4 bitmain trolls) Too much fucking work.

To mine eth, you get to your local PC store, buy a few strong GPU's and you are done. You can resell them easily. They'll protect their value for years. That's a huuuge plus.

If my memory serves me right, i remember that ETH's hash power already surpassed Bitcoin's.

The difference in supply will make BTC grow much more in value than ETH over time.  Yes, ETH value has been growing faster over the last year than BTC did, but BTC will have only 21 Million supply ever... this will cause a parabolic effect on the price of BTC for as long as it remains popular.
