I wonder how i did it but i mistakenly deleted a private message sent to me without reading it at all, i do not know the sender nor the content in it.

Please is there any way to recover a deleted private message on this forum ?

only the site admin (theymos) or probably the Global Moderators like hilariousandco can have access to the personal messages. but i don't think they will if it is not an important case since it is going to take time to go and find it and bring it back and give it to you...

also ask in Meta board not here.

If you have an email linked in your forum account then you probably have a copy of that PM in it because afaik, we get notifs of pms with the details in it by default forum setting.

Thank you guys for your nice comment and suggestions, i guess the sender of the PM might send another one if there is no response from me only that i am a bit worried.

There is no need to contact anybody because the pm might not be as important as i am feeling.

I will equally check my email probably i will get the name of the sender.

If you have PM notifications via email enabled then you will receive the entire message in your email.

If the message is still in the senders outbox, then theymos and Cyrus can recover the PM for you. If the PM was in your inbox for more than 24 hours (if it was there as of when PMs were backed up that day, which happens every day), then theymos can recover the message for you. In either case, recovering the pm will take some amount of time, and theymos may not take the time to recover it for you just because he can.

Actually I have the same problem as you but that is from before when I started to use the forums. I accidentally deleted the message from several message(I'm going to delete old message but I mistakenly deleted the new one because of sorting) before reading it fully though it is not that important but still it is awkward to ask again the person to send you again the message he or she had sent previously.

This is not exactly how my case scenario happened, my pc often delete items on my desktop anytime i new opened it and any document opened shall be sent to the cycling bin, it delete word that are written in the note pad also but i did not not that it can also delete my PM before i even touch it.

I have formatted it several times but the situation does not change, i have to manage it like that.

It's obvious that the opportunity of recovering PM's is there, but since OP doesn't know who the sender is, isn't it required to notify the sender first when it comes to recovering the PM in his outbox?

But since there is no sender, it's practically impossible to notify someone, unless an admin asks for permission directly to that person.

No. I am not sure why you would think otherwise.
