Seems people are wanting more CHNCoin pools so I decided to set one up:

UPDATE: Pool is temp down for now, DDoS... not much I can do, attack was pretty massive - 8.4 gbit worth. I'll update when/if it comes back.

It's a P2Pool, so use your payment address as username to connect

Quick & easy CGMiner command line:

Quote
cgminer --scrypt -o url -u walletaddress -p x -s 5 --expiry 5 --queue 0

I'm currently pointing around 1 MH/s to it myself. It's on a 1gbit line (unmetered) and latency should be very low for anyone in the US. Pool fee is 3 %. Enjoy! If you have any problems, let me know.

Update: We're up to 40 MH/s+ now and over 20 blocks found! Smiley

Odd, well it's possible the firewall banned you. PM me your IP and I can take a look. Aside from that, I tried accessing it from 3 different networks just now and none had trouble connecting.

Anyone else have trouble connecting?

Firewall was trigging some false positives, anyone that was having trouble connecting before should be able to now.

The reject rate is less than some other P2Pools I've seen on here. I'll see if I can improve it, it's not the hardware though - pool's running on a dual E5-2620 and 64GB RAM.

However, you shouldn't be seeing 50% rejects, that is likely a miner config issue

I've found another reason for high reject rates with cgminer is it could be submitting old shares if you just switched pools, which will sort itself out.

You can also try lowering intensity, at least on my 7950s 18 seems to give the best result. Anything higher nets a better hash rate but more stales.

I can connect and get a few accepted, but most I see is:
- Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart (every few seconds)
- Stratum from pool 0 detected new block (every 10-15 seconds)

230kh/s, got 2 shares accepted in first 3 minutes, no stales, next 15 minutes no share accepted at all. What is wrong?
I use cgminer --scrypt -o chnpool.yourcoins.org:8400 -u walletaddress -p x -s 5 --expiry 5 --queue 0

This is normal and won't affect payouts, just means your miner is fetching new work. At 230kh/s it's going to take some time for you to see shares accepted.

+1 those are the settings I use as well, added them to the OP.

blastbob's pool is US based and his is down now too.

I don't think I'll be bringing the pool back unfortunately. Too much sabotage going on with this coin. It's interesting the guy that scammed people with a 100% fee on his pool didn't suffer any downtime today while all other pool ops did.

Wow. Someone really wants to obtain this coins. But why? They are don't unique, and price dropping.

They want the price to drop so they can buy cheap while farming on a pool they can connect to.

It's not expensive if you run the botnet....
