so im trying out armory transactions for first time to see how fast they go through and to send .008 a .004 transaction fee is needed?? why so high?

i've kinda read how it works and i've had bitcoins on this address for at least a month.. this is just my first send transaction on it

just kinda ridiculous because i have .009 only on this wallet and it's asking for a .0047 transaction fee meaning i can only send about .0043 ... that's a 100%+ transaction fee

There are currently too many transactions for the network to handle so its meant that the only way to push your transaction through is with a high fee. It is a problem that has been well discussed and the main problem is no one can agree on which of several possible solutions to adopt.

As for now the only choice you have is to spend the high fees. Normally fees are calculated based on the number of bytes in your transaction so if you received many small amounts of btc on that address the fee will get much higher. The fees you listed sound about average for a normal transaction.

so that's the price i pay for using a hard wallet? because online wallets have much less transaction fees

and how long does it take to enter blockchain? Cause i sent it about a few min ago even with the ridiculous fee and still dont see it
