The only problem about XEL is that the current developers picked up the open source where the original dev left it and now they are working on it but what if they get tired and move on? What happens to the development of XEL?

When did the original dev leave? EK is still here isn't he? A few others joined along the way.

If you mean Lannister, he was not a dev AFAIK.

People believe any crap written in an article without trying to check stuff out (yes, an article which lacks accurate data and invents stuff up is crap). That is probably why they think Lanister was an important dev that left. Amazes me how people are manipulated easily for their own laziness.

Yes he was but it doesn't matter because EK had already taken over a lot of the work before he left.

Is there any reason to believe that this will or can really become a super computer that is decentralized?

I'm afraid you are wrong here.

Best to be honest and not spread misinformation even if it is well meaning.  If we don't state things correctly people will accuse us of covering things up.

Lannister was the original developer - I remember personally messaging him about the project before EK even joined.  He did contribute a lot of work towards the project which if I remember right even EK mentioned when he left.

No misinformation intended. If I was wrong about this I stand corrected and appreciate the correction. I am all for complete transparency and honesty unless it collides with more fundamental issues as privacy and such (such as the right to remain anonymous and yet involved).

No worries I didn't think it was deliberate - there is just so much going on with so many different projects there is no way one single person can keep up with everything or even remember everything.  Its just I know what people in crypto tend to be like - they cry scam at the slightest thing so that is why I wanted to clear it up:)

Could we have a little heads up on whats going on in the background ?
Thx
guys, just track Github. that's all updates you need until release.
https://github.com/OrdinaryDude/ElasticPrototypeWallet/commits/master

https://github.com/sprocket-fpga/xel_miner/commits/master

Looking at the updates on Github gives me a huge amount of confidence on this one. To be honest following the development of Elastic is actually one of my favourite things to do. There aren't many crypto projects around where I can see progress like that. Can't wait to see what the next release holds. Definitely hoping for some good things here. A big thanks to the developers!

Depends on the task you ask the computer to do.

Distributed computing is not new: Do you remember project SETI running on the PS3? Or the protein folding thing.

Tokenization makes things (almost) simpler and allows people to get "paid" for the computing.

I'll post this topic in the old thread to help get people over to here.  Seems the old thread continues to get bumped by new posts.

Hello... i'm having issues with Forging.

"Your effective balance is zero, you cannot forge. (Effective balance is your balance after 750 block confirmations)."

I'm well over 1500 blocks on my deposits...

Any suggestions?

You need minimum 1000 XEL to start forging - see here https://www.mynxt.info/forging_calculator.php
