Y'all have lost the plot.

What does that even mean?

I think it means that some people (like the one in question) should not be given the honor of wasting one's time.

How are the github commits coming?  Somebody was posting screenshots showing nothing has been done for months, yet we know EK and team are working daily.

Don't rely on, or give attention to feeble minded fools throwing moronic statements into the air. You can see work is being done and committed. In addition, I think our devs have earned much respect and their statements that they are progressing with work on the client should be taken as they are, facts.

The fact is that dreamspark is right actually

... No github commits in nearly a month ...

b/c today is Oct, 10th and the last commits are Sep, 17th and Sep, 18th, so IT IS NEARLY a month without commit.

Yes, Of course he is right.. We are all delusional for thinking a full release is getting close, and we all "lost the plot"... Yep, 100% correct...

We have families and we have the right to go on vacation with them, don't we? It is a bit unfair to go after us just because we were off the keyboard for a few days, isn't it? For the last week or so we were (without committing it to any git) working on a documentation behind the scenes (basically, a semi-technical draft explaining all functions and the way we have implemented it). We do not need that documentation for us, this was just an idea to give people something to read and maybe getting them interested in the code we write.

But ...
I of course can't speak for all of the contributors, but if you guys start demanding from us, giving us orders, tracking every move we do and blaming us for not acting according to your "rules" then you can be sure that sooner or later people will leave! Nobody will jump though anyone's hoops here.

EK, you're overreacting (as usually) - you can do whatever you like - just give the community a sign of life from time to time (in case you're still in the project), or a small update (like you did above) instead of wasting your energy on grumbling how bad is the community.

I don't think that EK is over reacting. I completely understand his position, and I think we should respect his boundaries and comfort zones according to the way he defines them. EK and coralreefer are doing this project and community a big service for developing this, and it is our obligation to respect them and their feelings, even if someone might not feel the same.

tomkat, what is your agenda here?  I provided an update just a couple days ago, which is what you claim is all that is needed.  But you always have negative comments about the project and seem to be in a big rush to get something delivered.  Do you have a project that you are trying to implement on Elastic?  Or do you just need the price to pump so that you can dump your xel?

and just for further clarification, (as some may truly not understand this)...both ek and I work on our local computers...we push code to github as needed (to share what we've done with each other, or simply to serve as a backup).  Neither of us push code there, just to show people like tomkat that progress is being made.

I'm am still confused by the comments I see around this project...so many other project have little or no development, and people just continue to support it as they believe in the idea.  For whatever reason, this project has so many people that demand frequent updates, it's unreal.

If you don't believe in the idea behind the project or the work that is being done, please just move on to something else.

+1

Better to weed out the useless negative noise and stay with people who believe in the project and the ones who actually put real effort to make it a reality.

Not sure what's your point - what's wrong with my XEL-related comments?
What is so negative there? Are you biased against me or what?

I have baught elastic early last year and sold them all in a perfect time. Now, i have a feeling that we might never be able to see that low prices after Bitcoin hard-fork. I personally believe that it is time to buy altcoins and keep them safely in wallets. Altcoin market will turn around after the new year, and i think then today`s altcoin investors will make good profit.

Nobody will be complaining when the price rises, half of you had the chance to sell at much higher than this value it is nobody elses fault you didn't sell but your own. It is definitely nothing to do with the progress of the project, nearly all alts are down as people are trying to cash out on the next BTC fork, they will all shoot up again like August 2nd. Quit crying and just have some patience, the price will recover.

Let the devs work at the rate they want to and unless you are going to help work on development as well stop being so fucking demanding.
