Oh, and by the way, NO ONE is trying to pump the price from the side of the actual people doing stuff for the project.
We made it perfectly clear in the past that we do not make useless air announcements. Take it as it is.

Do we know for sure that the "surprise" is  a working supercomputer? or are we getting ahead of ourselves? I guess we'll find out sunday  Grin
congrats to all that have helped developed this. Very exiting times ahead for XEL.

I strongly suggest to be extra cautious about unknown exchanges.
The project will benefit additional listings, but only if they are done in substantial founded trustworthy exchanges.
Anything else will be extra liability and a chance for future problems.
In addition, you may post that you want to suggest to add this coin to a new outlet. Stating this as an announcement is a tad misleading. Please refer to it as it is, a private initiative based on the personal opinion of the person posting the suggestion.

PUMP

Hi guys, I just saw that more than half of all XEL (50,698,500 of 89,390,937) are on the BitTrex account (XEL-AQVJ-PPCK-QJYJ-8T65V)  Roll Eyes
It's bad practice and undermines the idea of decentralization... please think about it if you have your XEL on BitTrex and consider putting it on a private account.
Have a nice weekend!

PS: If the situation keeps like this, I really hope that XEL will be delisted from Bittrex to wash out the Bittrex-Hodlers

This coin will have a pump without doubts very big. And here about the exchange that removed a coin from the exchange to me frankly speaking your thought is not absolutely clear. Perhaps I what also understand that I exclude it.

a) I just pumped my former message about the PROBLEM OF CENTRALIZATION of XEL. Maybe you misinterpreted this.
b) XEL is completely centralized by the fact that more than half of it is on Bittrex.
c) Following from b) XEL must be considered insecure and dangerous.

EDIT: @all: Please consider putting your XEL on a private account - it's the least you can do to support the Elastic project.

i don't understand. How is it possible that more than half of all XEL are owned only by one people? I don't think this is really safe for xel itself..

Half of XEL are not "owned by one people" half of XEL are stored at Bittrex. That's a phenomenon you see with lots and lots of other currencies and nothing unusual. Most buyers don't withdraw their funds onto their wallet, so the exchanges store the majority of coins.

The problem is that more than half of the XEL are in one wallet, which is Bittrex. If this wallet gets hacked then Elastic is dead, for sure.
It IS unusual that more than half of all coins are in a single hot wallet. If you hold XEL and do not worry about that situation, then you are naiv.

EDIT: Nobody knows how many people at Bittrex have access to the password of their XEL account. Exchanges have been hacked before.

Why every step of elastic, a Lot of... how to say... “trolls”... try to bullshit elastic?

Each xel represent = computational power

At the moment is equal to 0... tomorrow will be...

If somebody will hack bittrex all the token will reck, not only xel

No, see for instance the Coincheck NEM hack.
This is a serious issue. Your ignorance will not change that fact.

Again: Please consider putting your XEL on a private account!

It is true that those who are not searching to trade on xel at the moment are best advised to keep their coins off an exchange for safe keeping.

This is quite a common occurance with newer projects that haven't been around long enough to be listed on more exchanges for a better distribution, in time with more adoption it will change. If Bittrex got hacked there would be bigger problems than just for XEL but in crypto anything can happen. I agree it is always better to keep your tokens where you actually own them and have full control over them.

I doubt EK's surprise will be an announcement, but rather a release or something much bigger than just an information.

I wouldn't really expect EK to say something like that if it wasn't something substantial for the progression of his crypto-child Elastic. I'm fairly excited, honestly not sure what it could be though. There have been many GitHub new commits by EK this year, maybe it is some heavy progression towards the completion of the computation engine? I wonder if anyone has the balls to short before a potentially massive update for XEL, especially now since dropping down from an ATH of 25k sat in August and EK has actually purchased some.
