If you running this setup:

MSI Z170A-Gaming M5
RX 570 or RX 580
Ubunuto 17 (or flavor)
AMDGPU-Pro 17

Do you have any issue with PEG graphics? If I try to plug in my monitor to my GPU the system boots to a distorted screen, the fan blades stop on the GPU, and the system doesn't fully boot (can see the USB perifs never get fired up).

I've reinstalled the OS - so thinking it might be something with the BIOS. I've switched from IGD to PEG. If I run IGD I can log in only via command line, start Claymore, but then both fans come to a halt (but Claymore WILL run at full speed (only for a sec before I kill it because of heat). Claymore shows fans at 22% even though they are not moving).

Could anyone please help? I've run out of ideas!

I have issues running more than 5 cards with this board, I regret getting it to be honest... Also the 4G decoding causes mine to crash.
