It's just how things operate in the altcoin markets mate. Maybe some whale just decided that ethereum was a good investment and therefore they pumped it. Maybe it was a short squeeze meaning that a lot of people tried to short ethereum but there was a lot of bulls pumping the coin so their positions were forced to be liquidated and therefore driving the price up even further.

And it's not even a particularly big pump. Nothing to be this excited about lol.

It's because of ethereum contract is becomeing populart where in most of ICO use ethereum contract to provide the requirements for their coin and also to strengthen their foundation which also benefits ethereum as we are expecting that the demand in eth would increase as we need to pay eth as fee for transferring tokens.

Well, general positive sentiment and network usage is at peak, people and businesses  use it. ETH network usage is higher than btc and it still costs cents to transfer and confirms fast.

Exactly, I think some whales decided to buy a lot in a shot time. Also, there is another possibility, more and more ICO projects use Ethereum smart contrast and accept ETH as ico payment, more and more people buy the ETH and the price is pumping.

Don't follow ETH, so I wasn't aware of any great rise--I'll take OP's word for it.  I don't think any news items ever cause ETH to pop or drop, because there's never any bullish news that's legitimate.  As stated, this is just the market's forces in action.  Big money is obviously being pumped into bitcoin and a lot of altcoins, and that's what's causing everything to be inflated.  I'm kind of curious to know exactly where this money is coming from, but I don't think that's ever going to be revealed.

Ethereum's demand keeps on pumping thats why the price of it keeps on getting higher. As of now the price of eth is going upwards it reaches 336$ now. but to me i thin people are very positive about bitcoin. i think because of the increasing demand of Etherim the price is trading so high. may be in future it increase more and more, because still people are confident about Etherium and are continuously investing assets in Etherium.
