Then you'll have to stick with the usual thing you do, convert it into cash that's it . But As if you really know what is going to happen after 9 years there's so many countries that are making it legal to be a payment method so I don't think I can't still use to buy groceries after several years, maybe in your country you'll never be able to do that . Grin

whats the point of bitcoin, if you cant do anything with this shit?

Since you are a member of this forum and probably you still have bitcoin so what's the point why you are still using it ? Grin in my point of view it doesn't matter if you can't do those things that you have mentioned, there are many opportunities in bitcoin and there are many purposes of bitcoin aside from being a payment method which is a good investment . Bitcoin doesn't need to die .

Is it even that alive yet for it to die? Tongue

Sure, Bitcoin might not succeed as worlds primary currency, as satoshi wanted, but Bitcoin has forever earned its place as first decentrlized, immutable storage of value, "digital gold" if you want. This is a pretty big achievement already, as anyone in the world can easily access the Bitcoin network via the Internet and exchange their money for Bitcoin - something that sometimes can be very hard to do with other assets like gold, stocks or even simply opening bank account in some regions.

I don't know if OP is just trolling around. Bitcoin will never die and just because you can't afford to spend it on real life on your place. For sure you still have bitcoins on your wallet and there's no need for you to tell some this kind of words. If you don't want to use bitcoins anymore, just sell them out then you still have profit on it.

Op is trolling hard and we all are catching his bait. It would be totally ridiculous that cryptocurrency revolution would change the world in less than a decade.
Other inventions like the Internet, Mobile Phone needed much more time to conquer the world. Bitcoin is not an exception here.
Just wait for next global economic crisis to happen, and it is bound to happen sooner or later. People will come to Bitcoin, crying that fiat system is flawed.

What use is Bitcoin if in 9 years you cant even buy groceries with this shit

You cant build a business on bitcoin because of the volatility and even if you try to runa business on bitcoin you have to wait forever for a transaction to be sent

whats the point of bitcoin, if you cant do anything with this shit?
Your question was a kind of negative thought about in bitcoin. Is this what your thinking about in bitcoin after 9 years? I think your not supposed to be here in this industry if your mindset is like that, Because most of the bitcoin enthusiast here are thinking anything like that. Instead, even there is a fluctuation happened in the price still it recover it again and again.

Nine years is not really such a long time. And in fact it is very profitable to store currency in bitcoins, because it never practically falls in price.

I liked Bitcoin for what is was: A method of paving the way for cryptocurrencies. Eventually it will not die entirely, but will remain as a niche. With no scaling, no governance and no money to finance dedicated, good, independent programmers, who also understand market requirements, it's path into insignificance is inevitable.

The trend of Bitcoin's decreasing importance started in February/March this year and will not stop for a long time. The next milestone is 0.177 ETH/BTC = flipping

Bitcoin is more like an asset than currency and I don't think it will die soon as people are investing too much in bitcoins. I think bitcoin is good and it will be future of crypto currency. Bitcoin won't die for atleast next 10 years or so because it is more than currency. It is the means of payment that everyone wanted for long time and bitcoin is serves them what they wanted that's why people are interested in it.

If you want to buy something with bitcoin, there are some online stores accept bitcoin, and there are a lot of merchants accepted bitcoin in some cities (not in yours obviously). At least bitcoin has higher price than any other currency, many people use it as medium of exchange, for trading purpose and long term investment, depends on your choices.

If Amazon, Paypal and Visa would implement or allow Bitcoin right now, immediately increasing the amount of users and intended transactions 50fold, the protocol would simply collapse and not execute ANY transactions any more. Unless you pay prohibitive prices for your transaction.

We know, Bitcoin is not ready. Therefore bitcoin is not ready yet for the world, but we want it to already be there. We need to settle this ongoing scaling debate. At least SegWit is something and this new SegWit2x plan where there is always a 2MB hardfork after 6 months of activation is going to stir up a lot of controversy.

I wish either Segwit or Bitcoin Unlimited or whatever over temporary scaling solution would have been implemented. That this did not happen already in late 2015 (and is nowhere firmly in sight) -when the market needed it- made me loose all faith in the decision makers responsible for the protocol.

I had all my hopes (and a bigger amount of money) in Bitcoin, but that scaling debate has cost cryptocurrencies at least 2 years of continued adoption. And Bitcoin the first place among Cryptocurrencies.

Why are you here to ask this question. If you are tired just give me your remaining bitcoin and leave us alone and see, as we become billionaires.
Yeah those negative people just need to let us go as well as their bitcoins because in that way they can move on and forget about bitcoin and someday they will get shocked because of the news that bitcoin price is over a hundred thousand dollars and that will make them regret and the only action that they can do to avoid that situation is to not leave bitcoin and work hard to get a lot of bitcoins while it is not that difficult to get and buy.

Who are you to say that bitcoin is shit, worth nothing and need to die?
See, bitcoin price is increasing. And if you're afraid that you won't even able to buy groceries with btc, then sell your btc when the price is high and save your money in bank! Though i know that you'll regret it when the price is increasing more and more and still worth it, not like what you predict.
Or maybe you can have a day job too, and use btc as an extra income. That way, you won't need to worry you're not able to buy groceries or something like that since you have real money for them.

Van-Petersen (an analyst at Saxo Bank) sees the market cap of Bitcoin rising to $1.75 trillion in the next 10 years. For this to happen, Bitcoin needs to mature as a technology, solve all of its scaling issues and become adopted as a digital currency and digital cash system, instead of a safe haven asset and long-term investment.

Yes, in some point, I know why after 9 we can't still buy stuffs or groceries using bitcoin. But it's not all about buying those stuffs. Yes, you can't buy that using the actual currency which is bitcoin but you can buy those using other currency when you exchange it with bitcoin. Hope you gettin' my point. Bitcoin is decentralized.

BIG PICTURE BABY! If bitcoin gets as big as some of the projects, business owners would have to be insane not to accept it as a method of payment.
