I downloaded the zip file than unzipped it and microsoft defender flagged it as virus. I didn't click the bat file or anything and immediately removed both.
Is it of any real danger ? Considering I didnt click any of the files like bat one...

p.s newbie...

It quite often happens for the windows antivirus to detect CG miner as virus. Don't worry. May I ask from where you dowloaded it?

Here is the official thread of cg miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.0

I don't know if it is the last version but do not download from other sources, it may contains trojans, keyloggers or rats.

Looking at it again I am not sure if it was ccminer sg miner or cg but as I noticed all are flagged by virus total
Here is an example of sgminer
https://virustotal.com/en/file/e4f886fe12001865eadbb6f8f37943120322890b31dfa8003d742392aa672726/analysis/1496302794/

My question really is was my computer affected from that virus ? Cause as I said I only unzip defender flagged it and I removed it fast no click in any of the files unziped

Like 232drialf said: it's pretty common to have mining software flagged as PUP by virusscanners... It's a false positive.
That being said: even if it did contain a virus, i don't think your pc could get infected by merely unzipping a zipfile containing an infected binary... (unless it was a fake zipfile => virus.zip.exe)

There is no .bat file in the CGMiner download.  Also it comes in the 7zip format not zip.  Make sure you know the source your getting it from.  If you want CGMiner get ONLY from the link in -ck's CGMiner thread.

If you want one of the forked versions of CGMiner then get the proper link from someone knowledgeable in the alt coin section.

If you downloaded it from the official Github repo you should be fine, same with if you downloaded it from the official Bitcointalk post as stated above. It is just a false positive.

Yeah, I also trying to download different miners (Claymore, CGMiner) from official sources and my antivirus (360 Total) detecting theirs as trojan. So it's just false alarm?

Be careful enough before downloading any files from unknown source... It may be dangerous
