Just so you guys know USAF is cancelled. Miners finally realised that this would be risky to let USAF happen.
This is why all major mining pool started to signalise SegWitx2 yesterday, currently, we have more than 80% hash support for this proposal.
Everything should be fine in hopefully August 1 we would have upgraded chain with SegWit running on it - and withing next 6 months hard fork 2MB will be activated.

Instead of using the term cancelled, as the person you quoted did, I find it better to say that a UASF is more or less prevented with the upcoming 'agreement' for Segwit2x. Currently we're at 80% support already (which is a good thing), and now it's purely waiting for the code to be released to set the next important step. I am seriously excited with how things are going now.

SegWit is a way to go. With 80% support, we are quite near to its implementation. At present saying anything about the price of bitcoin after 1st August will be mere a guess. But I believe that price will rather increase. I am quite curious to know what gonna happen in August.

Thats great to see that miners DO care now, nobody would like Bitcoin to fail in price as they earn from mining. Honestly I am not the supporter for SegWit not BU but something has to be done. If the succeeded to implement it before UASF we will see the upward trend instead of downward one which is great. Let's just hold our Bitcoins and see what will happen at end I am fairly positive that they will activate SegWit through Segwit2x!

I heard that news yesterday and looks like miners are agree right now more than 80%
So hoping that we can see a good improvement this coming august 1 but many people are still afraid and buying other altcoin just to be safe their money in to other altcoin or make a profit..

I think we still don't know what will be the effect after activate that segwit as i can seen many people are still afraid about this that is why we seen a large drop few days ago..
Well if it can fix the issue overall and also for the miners fee can be reduce we will see a large price increase this coming august so just get ready your bitcoins to sell once the price increasing fast or buy bitcoins once the price crashes..

On August 1, 2017 there will be changes that will be implemented on bitcoin which is the current bitcoin scaling proposals but only one proposal will be chosen. At that date a consensus will be made and of course OP it will affect the price. If the applied change to bitcoin is good and pleased many users, of course it will continue to go up in price but if the applied change is bad, then for sure price will dump.

This a good news on bitcoin, but there is always a fear from speculations of other sectors of negative thinkers. If that hardfork or segwit implementation will bring good future of bitcoin, then let it happen so that bitcoin price will substancially be increasing at higher rate. When we have faster transaction and fee is reduced it attracts more investors invest with bitcoin, and strong hold will be developed.

Well i hope after august 01 it will good fortune in btc, but actually it sudden me when I read the article.
That the majority of miners should go for SegWit and if not that happen, the block chain will split into two.
And if this will happen, there's a threat in our funds like it could somehow lose. So we better have a back up.

If that applying hardfork or segwit will bring the good future of the bitcoin, then let it happen so prices will rise substancially bitcoin on a higher level. When we have transactions faster and costs are reduced is attracting more investors to invest with bitcoin, and strong suspension will be developed. so it is likely to happen in August 2017 bitcoin will give a surprise users

Of course it will affect the price lol, simply because any gossips, hear says, new, or whatever you wanna call it, always affects the minds of people depending on the news if it's a good one or a bad one, specially if it is either both. You see, lots of people that own bitcoins really love their money. And who doesn't? I mean if you love you money so much, and don't know that much about bitcoins, or if you already know a lot but are weak hearted, then probably you'd be doing what most of the bitcoiners would do; sell here and there your possessions out of panic. At this point everybody wants a solution. The faster the better. And I agree you should not risk instability by a hard fork, but on the same hand I think it's mandatory that a permanent solution for the fees is made. Be it Segwit with LN or a higher blocksize, whatever happens, let's hope the next time they don't wait 2 years for a solution.

Bitcoin will be on sale like -20% or more 

If chain splits it will be a disaster and many people will want to get out. But for the long run you and all of us shouldn't be worried, why? Because if everything sorts good at end ,which will I am an optimist, price will reach new ATHs because it will get an upgrade which will enable ,us the users to send transaction less cheaper and confirmation times will be just amazing , there probably won't be a need for waiting a day for a confirmation in case of low fee.

August 1 is more than the "next halving"  simply because it will solve the long problem of Bitcoin, its scaling issue.  I just hope that it will be successful because if it is successful, the bitcoin bull will be in steroid and the price will definitely soar high.  I am looking at $5000  bitcoin a piece right before the end of the year and that is because of the August 1 event.  Australia plust Segwit will definitely push bitcoin beyond the moon.

Can we expect lower fees after activation of segwit or that is just my wish? Price like a price will go up, with every new update we see that price is going up, as I understand with segwit we will have faster confirmations, better network, but at the moment I care about fees, and I try to find something over the net but I just encountered on more same questions how long before these fees come down? and similar.
