Every fork or network splitting news that will happen to bitcoin is always a bad news for the users and investors, whenever this news is posted, others will be waiting, most of them are panicking. The obvious solution of some is to sell their bitcoin, the reason why the price will be affected, but now, some are educated from the last fork that never happened. So I think it will affect the price, but only a littlt bit. |

I don't think this will ever push though. This soft fork they are talking about requires a lot of support before it happens and I don't think it has enough to push through. This is a threat to the status quo and this will not fly that easily unless it is so compelling to join such a movement.

On august 1st there are rumours australia is also going to adopt bitcoin like how japan had done earlier and there are so many rumours around but this one seems a solid one. On price if this is going to happen we can see a long term affect like we saw after few weeks Japan's adoption |

It will create volalitity for sure but its hard to say if the price will end higher or lower but I'm betting it will be higher.

A lot of news that can be predicted. I'm not sure what happened on the 1st of August. The price may go up and could go down. Everything is not predictable easily, because everything can happen quickly. Some say there will be bad news and some say that August 1, 2017 australia will begin to adopt bitcoin.

Apparently nothing will happen on August 1st, 2017 if SegWitX2 happened. It is getting more than 78.5% (at the moment) of blocks mined today, which means it is really going to be implemented. This is Bitmain's backup plan after hard forking the blockchain, but it's a consensus that both sides would agree on.

Bitcoin will be on sale like -20% or more  If chain splits it will be a disaster and many people will want to get out. But for the long run you and all of us shouldn't be worried, why? Because if everything sorts good at end ,which will I am an optimist, price will reach new ATHs because it will get an upgrade which will enable ,us the users to send transaction less cheaper and confirmation times will be just amazing , there probably won't be a need for waiting a day for a confirmation in case of low fee. |

If that hardfork or segwit implementation will bring good future of bitcoin, then let it happen so that bitcoin price will substancially be increasing at higher rate. When we have faster transaction and fee is reduced it attracts more investors invest with bitcoin, and strong hold will be developed. |

Just a warning - the market will move at least two weeks BEFORE the August 1st fork. The whales don't leave things to the last minute, so try to take action before they do.

for sure!!! But this is a valid rule for every day and for every stocks. and for sure this is a valid rule for bitcoin. But no one can forecast if after fork, bitcoin value will rise or fall |

segwit will be activated at that point, i suspect the value will increase, there is a very tiny chance that it will tank, and i see no reason really why this should happen.... The price on August 1 will definitely be different.
probably higher, it's not different than when everyone was predicting that after the halving the price would be higher, and in fact we had a better value some prediction are really easy to spot, this is one of those, the value now already climbed back to the previou point, investors aren't stupid |

I say the price will be up!  We finally will get SegWit! One of the most important upgrades to the Bitcoin protocol. With SegWit comes Schnorr Sigs, MAST and Lightning implementations! This is awesome! In terms of the planned hardfork 3 months later by Jihad I don't give a damn! I will definitely not run their client! |

Just so you guys know USAF is cancelled. Miners finally realised that this would be risky to let USAF happen.
This is why all major mining pool started to signalise SegWitx2 yesterday, currently, we have more than 80% hash support for this proposal.
Everything should be fine in hopefully August 1 we would have upgraded chain with SegWit running on it - and withing next 6 months hard fork 2MB will be activated.
