Shouldn't a mod (-ck?) adjust this thread's title? The pool has been at ~32000TH/s for quite a while, now. 9000TH/s is old news.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

That's one way to shut me up.....

I guess I should work on my own Karma.

Moving my hash on the best day after 5 days of bad luck.... yeah that hurt.

Slush is really like an ex-girlfriend. The relation of Love/Hate is too close to be sustainable.

I'm sure that hurt a bit but the 2 invalid blocks almost back to back shows Slush hasn't fixed anything yet.

Very disappointed, going to start looking for another pool to devote my hash's tomorrow.

Recent Orphaned Blocks Explanation 2 hours, 29 minutes

Orphaned blocks are natural part of Bitcoin network. Therefore, our recent orphan rate was probably - to a certain extent - a random noise. Since it has been higher than usual in the past few days, we have conducted a deep analysis of our internal infrastructure and made some adjustment.

Firstly, we have upgraded to Bitcoind 0.11.1 which definitely improved our mempool performance. However, the remaining problem was still in propagation of our blocks into the bitcoin network. Eventhough Slush Pool has been using the fast block relay network (http://bitcoinrelaynetwork.org/) for over a year now, thorough analysis of block propagation times showed that our connections to the fast block relay network were not working properly in the last few weeks.

This connectivity issue, which affected all 9 bitcoin nodes that we currently operate, has been fixed with the help from Matt Corallo - the author of the fast block relay network. In addition, we have updated the relay network client to the latest version.

Since we have not experienced any orphaned block (invalid in Slush Pool terminology) in the last 2 days (or more than 30 consecutive blocks) we suppose the issue has been fixed. Moreover the block propagation times are now being carefully monitored and >we believe such increased attention will lead to stable validation in the future.

Finally we believe, the fast block relay network provides a very robust solution to this issue for all miners and mining pools.

Ending note:

Not only exchanges and wallets have been affected by persisting spam attack. Since pools depend on quick propagation times among Bitcoin network nodes, they were affected as well.

A very good analysis regarding this topic has been written and published on following website by Organ Ofcorti: http://organofcorti.blogspot.cz/2015/10/october-18th-2015-mining-pool-statistics_21.htm

Although he covered a few selected pools in his analysis there are other big players who were not analyzed and had higher rate of orphaned blocks in the weeks before as well. Therefore, it is safe to guess that the whole network was and is being affected to much higher extent.

As to why the current spam attack impacts orphan rates, we would like to point attention of our technically skilled miners to following statistics as well: http://bitcoinrelaynetwork.org/stats.html

It seems like the more folks talk about leaving, the bigger the pool hash rate gets...

I guess this is not fixed yet?

How does the hash rate keep climbing - yet the success rate keeps plummeting?

Lot of folk wasting a lot of electricity here..............

Lot of folk wasting a lot of electricity here..............

Maybe slush himself added some additional hashing power to the pool in order to increase the pools success rate?!?

But I pulled all of my hashing power out of Slush a couple of hours ago and have it now pointed at BTCC Pool in China.  Going to give them a couple of days and see how I like that pool.

Do BTCChina payout the same way Slush does?

I'm not interlay sure how they derive a payout but from what I've read on their site they pay twice a day on balances over .001 (not .01 like slush).  It is also a PPS (Pay Per Share) system.
I'm going to compare my payouts over the next two or so days to what I was averaging with Slush and see how it works out.  I know BTCC Pool usually averages twice the number of blocks found each day.

It wasn't...

It was a guy who rented 6 PH/s for a few hours and pointed them at Slush.

Good to know!

Didn't get much bang for your buck out of it, bad timing!
