Is anyone else having problems with block reword starting from block #174589? Statistics are showing 0 reword for me on 174589 - 174602 - 174611 - 174612 - 174621 and 174626. Could be something from my side but I doubt that, since I monitor the GPU activity on my miners and load didn't drop on any of them over the past 12 hours (meaning they worked/sent something in that time interval).

For me is all ok: all of the blocks have a rewards

Everything is fine. Perhaps a belated guiminer poclbm bug? Which kernel are you using?

I know we've had this conversation before, but I can't get over how consistent the loss is.  I can't wait until someone finds a way to block these people, or somehow prevent it from happening.  That person would be my hero. 

And yes, I know about p2pool, sorry but it just seems like a pinta to setup/maintain (so far).  I like being able to throw a new card in my system (or add a new system) and have it up and running in about 30 seconds so I can go do something else.

Just look at it as if this specific block hadn't been mined without the additional hashpower, or had been mined much much later. Time is money, also.

On another note, is there a working sidebar tool for Win7 that works with Slush's pool? I want to keep track without using the browser all of the time and the gadgets I found don't work anymore!

I hate seeing my rewards go way down on the short rounds just as much as the next (non-hopping) guy but I doubt it's realistic to block the hoppers.  Wouldn't the best bet be to change the payout algorithm to PPLNS or something? I'd sure love to see that.

I just setup a worker for each rig, that way if one of my workers has zero shares for the round then I know something is up.  Granted that still requires me to check the website periodically, but at least I don't have to wait 4 or 5 rounds before my average hashrate starts to fall before I figure out something is screwy with one of my rigs.

I just use http://btc-poolwatch.com/ and check there every now and then (bookmark'd on my mobile).

I'm having odd connection problems.  from miners on the the same network some connect fine others never get a response from the pool (tcpdump shows only outbound syn on the wire never anything at all back) using cgminer 2.3.2 on all systems

I see that pool banned some IPs which you were used. It's because pool detected getwork flooding from such addresses. I'm wondering if there's some bug in cgminer, because in recent days I had some similar cases and all those users were using cgminer.

How big is your mining rig? Afaik you generate around 2Ghash, but those IPs were performing hundreds of getworks/s (total pool performance is around 500gw/s).  I know that ckolivas probably hates pool operators, because cgminer is very aggressive and it overload servers even in normal run, but this looks like a bug.

So I've noticed that for substantially smaller rounds < 8 minutes or so, I always get paid less than during the longer rounds. I thought it was just variance and would even out, but this has been ongoing for weeks, and I pretty much have never seen a higher than normal payout on the smaller rounds to even things out. Like I'll get .08-.09 btc on normal rounds, but only .04-.05 on the short rounds. Why is that? And is there something I can do to fix it?

I have about 2 Ghash all operating on diablominer at -v 2 -w 128 -f 120 if that helps to solve the problem.

I feel like I'm losing a fair amount of income if all the small blocks end up paying me less. I should be rooting for the fastest blocks possible, but it seems like that's slightly suboptimal for me based on this? Any solutions? Anybody else experiencing this?

Slush is currently working on a payout system that either eliminates this problem, or comes very close to it.  He said himself he is hoping to have it in place in a few days (only 4 posts back).

His current scoring method does discourage pool hopping.  But it doesn't eliminate the profit from it all together.  The new method will eliminate any benefit from pool hopping period.
