There are NO chips more ...

i dont know where the 5000 Chips are gone but BFL doesnt have any more ...

35 Jalapenos (2 chips each) out of 5000 chips = 1.4% wafer yield. I guess their 100% wafer yield estimate was off just a little.

Maybe someone spilled Mountain Dew on the rest of the wafer?

Another useful BFL thread ruined by trolls.
Are there no mods?

I am use to a forum with over 10,000 active members, where mods would have deleted half the posts in this thread in seconds as off topic or abusive.

How are they handling the power supply issue for the 60gh units? I dont think a power brick is gonna work for 300w but they announce anything yet?

Looks great and the larger board as was said, is simplified a bit.  It said power was two 6-pin connectors so whether that's meant for an ATX PSU only or adapts to a power brick or something should be made clear soon enough.

Nice to see the singles coming along well.  I'd estimate then that they'd do power testing and stability over this coming weekend and hopefully the assemble and ship-out the week after, ideally.  But then again with how the roadmap they've been on has been, it's just good to see progress.  But then again I'm very patient so yeah.

Oh Loaded, who art up in Mt. Gox, hallowed be thy name!  Thy dollars rain, thy will be done, on BTCUSD.  Give us this day our daily 10% 30%, and forgive the bears, as we have bought their bitcoins.  And lead us into quadruple digits

I'm sure they'll use a power brick, with a mini-fit jr adapter. Something like this, but bigger: http://www.mini-box.com/12v-16A-AC-DC-Power-Adapter

There are NO chips more ...

i dont know where the 5000 Chips are gone but BFL doesnt have any more ...

so now i can hope they get more than 1000 ( 1 wafer ) thursday -.-

Any the mystery of the 5000 missing chips is not even explained at all...

other than "oh we dont have the chips anymore..blah blah blah"

Did they ever really have those chips? If they did are they syphoning them off to an undisclosed location to mine secretly adding a small amount of hash to the network over time?

Wouldn't surprise me if BFL resorted to this to get enough capital to fulfill all preorders lol.....scummy fucks  Grin

And they need now double pieces of chip`s for one Unit -.-
Which means it will exasterbate the chips shortages.

If the 5000 chips went bust then it means that BFL is approaching somewhere around 25%~30% failure rate for their 100 wafer batch.

Is 100 wafer's what BFL ordered?  How many chips do they get per wafer?

i've seen estimates up to 10-20k BFL single orders but I think nobody knows how much hashing power they will add to the network or if they will be wafer limited or not

The truth is...

BFL is NOT a very transparent business.

They claim to be transparent and super cheerleaders to their estimates of delivery, power, speeds...and fail on all estimates.

BFL should not be trusted in anything they say to be truthful or accurate in any manner. Neither should Josh/Inaba.

BFL is a failure and at current delays a ponzi/scam.

They are cowboys with calculators that when they see a number like $1,000,000,000 after doing some profit calculations they immediately believe that their business model and product development will meet those specs WITHOUT any actual research into reasonable possibilities of actual speeds, power, cost numbers.

HOW BFL CAME TO THEIR ORIGINAL ASIC SPECS...

(setting takes place in a semi-permanent rental unit in May 2012)

Sonny: Hey DEV how are you today?
DEV: Not too shabby.

Sonny: What you got going on today?
DEV: Well I was doing some thinking and thought "what if we make our own ASIC devices for bitcoin mining?"

Sonny: Go on...
DEV: See right now we are selling FPGAs that mine bitcoin, but if we were to go with a custom device designed specifically for mining bitcoins we could make tons of cash!

Sonny: ($-signs glean in his eyes)
DEV: So here are the numbers I came up with... (BUSTS OUT HIS CALCULATOR!)

...(1 hour later)...

Sonny: Okay i didn't quite understand all of that math but if you think we can make tons of cash I'm for it. How do we start?
DEV: Let's put out an announcement on BTCtalk forums that claims we can get 1GH/s per 1 watt with our ASIC devices and charge $X, $Y, $Z, and $A for the different speed devices. Also we will tell them we will deliver in October 2012 just so it sounds realistic given you can't make a device overnight for this stuff.

Sonny: go on...
DEV: Imagine a 1 TH/s rig

Sonny: 1 TH/s rig? Really? You think we could design that and get it to market?
DEV: (grin) of course

Sonny: Let's do it. Let's use bitpay to allow for USD/FIAT payments and allow for people to pay for their orders with bitcoin too.
DEV: Sounds awesome! WE can make MEGA GAZILLION $'s.

Sonny: Oh yeah baby! Bring it on!

...(few weeks later)...

Sonny: So DEV is the website all ready to go for launch?
DEV: Yup we got all the pictures we need for now and pricing to get people to preorder with us. IM SO EXCITED!!!!

Sonny: Let's launch then!
DEV: Done!

...(48 hours later)...

DEV: OMFG WE ARE IN THE $$!! WE GOT LIKE $XXX,XXX.00 in the first 24 hours and the money is still rolling in! BWAHAHAHA!
Sonny: HOLY FUCKING SHIT! WOO HOO! PARTY! DEV YOU DA MAN!

DEV: We need to leverage this shit so we can make even more GAZILLION $'s!
Sonny: Keep taking orders and spam the shit out of GOOGLE ads and bitcoin talk about our ASIXZAH!

DEV: Will do. But we do need a front man to handle all of the customers orders and "PR" so we can do "our jobs".
Sonny: who do suggest?

DEV: Remember that guy that came over to visit the other week? Let's use him!
Sonny: Wasn't his name like Jennifer?

DEV: Sonny, it was Josh, not Jennifer.
Sonny: Oh right! Okay let's use him for this. Let's pay him a fat salary $7X,XXX.00 and get him on board with us ASAP!

DEV: Will do!

...(and the rest is history)...

Same, if you check the forum stats here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats  you will see that the worst trolls of BFL threads are also the turbo posters right across these forums.
