Help need - cpuminer not running cryptonight

I am having a problem to run cpuminer-multi for cryptonight mining on Ubuntu 16, below is an example of the error I am getting. I tried Monero / BCN pools but no one work, same issue. (JSON invalid result, rpc2_login_decode: fail)

I was having exactly this problem - my issue was caused by me entering an incorrect wallet address, correcting this fixed the issue for me.
