i worked near minimum wage for years having zero quality of life as i saved up money, learned amazon and affiliate marketing, set up a few businesses with an american guy and we're going to do about 1.5 million profit this year between us, next year it will be a lot more because we reinvest everything. about 1/3 of our money gets taken away from us in taxes until we figure out how to go offshore.
my colleagues from my old job, many of whom i still speak to, earned the same money as me but chose to spend it on their social lives, drinking, vacationing abroad and the usual temporal nonsense. they are all net zero tax contributors, meaning the £1.5k or so they pay in income tax doesn't nearly cover the cost of the housing benefit, healthcare and other government services they consume
moral of the story is nobody owes you shit. make better decisions in your life if you want to have more stuff.
Well good for you. I guess time is also a factor. Your live suck now but it would be better later if you do so and so. Either you dance around like a cricket or start hoarding food for winter. Of course this is assuming you'd live long enough to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Life can be quite fickle.
The only issue I'd be having with this statement is that if a person is poor, not working, using welfare programs or even abusing welfare programs, they SHOULDN'T be using these sort of luxuries. I know I may be contradicting what was written, but in all honesty you should be making the smart decision for yourself and for your family to be using that money in the right way and not WASTING it on these sort of things.
I know I'm going to be called out for playing into what this tweet is saying is the worst, but you could get a much higher BANG for your BUCK for coffee if you don't go to starbucks, or do this, or do that. So, that's just my two cents.
A few small luxuries every now and then is fine but Starbucks is ridiculous, especially for third worlders. I see people who live on debt spend their time their to look like they got money.
