I am wondering what provisions have you all made in case you die before cashing out your bitcoins? I am single, live alone and both my parents are deceased. My siblings dont care about any of this, however I would like my nieces and nephews to get some of my profits but they are still very young right now. I dont trust lawyers to give them my private keys. I am wondering, what can I do?

put everything you've got on a flash drive and leave it in a banks vault? Then leave in the will the password or whatever to the one you think he'd use it the most. That's what I'd do or maybe send keys to some charity and write somewhere on how to use it.

That sounds like a pretty clever remedy.

I would have asked why you would be thinking of death when you are apparently just starting your life, then it dawned on me that death is inevitable. I still wanna live very long so death is the last thing on my mind right now and I know God's gat my back but if I am to do what you wanna do, I would just write a will with my lawyer then open a safe with a good bank to keep all my wallet details which are to be disclosed to my lawyer in the presence of my named nephews and nieces and all beneficiaries only when I am deceased. In that way, you should be able to share your profit with no kwams.

in the event of my death, i make sure my bitcoin account is already accesible by my husband. because at present i can see how blessed i am as a bitcoiner. we never know when will be the end of our existence but bitcoin is infinite although inflation is constant and i believe rate of it gets higher and higher that is why i should not let go of being active in using this bitcoin. it helped me a lot and so as to my family and i trust them specially my husband. they should continue what i started because i know we ll have better future through it.

I dont have to worry about this because i have a partner and she knows everything about me including my private keys the same with her too. but i dont want to think ahead, thinking too much can lead to sadness especially in your case living alone. why dont you find someone that can be your companion for the rest of your life have kids and live happy.

You have a lonely life sir, I hope you also have friends that can rely and talk to. If you don't really trust lawyers just leave a letter in your safe box for your nephews and nieces where they can find it easily. As right now they're very young and they can't understand what these whole thing about. Well your nieces and nephews are very lucky to have you as uncle.

Honestly I really hate a topic about death because im too scared for that to happen specially to my love ones but i realize that we all gonna lead to that scary situation. So my opinion is if ever I've got a very big amount of bitcoin i will give my husband or daughter an access to my wallet just in case in an event i will die suddenly. To ensure that my bitcoins are safe and they can use it when im gone in this world.

I have never thought about this even though death can come at any time, If you can not trust anyone even a lawyer, maybe you can take out insurance, I can not think of anything better Shocked .

You could consider using a password manager, like last pass, this has a facility to give someone else access to details in the event that you become uncontactable.

This is actually a pretty serious problem though!

In case of death although you mentioned that your sibling doest not care about cryptocurrency just inform them. For sure if you mention how much your bitcoins and other coins are worth you will get their attention. You may also go to a bank and leave a hardware wallet and just inform them about it in case you die.

I think this one sounds fairly nice solution to the ops question. They should put the hardware wallet into banks locker which would be most safe place around. Then as per the bank norms he will have to put the name of nominee in case of the death and the stuff. So easily he can out either siblings name or parents name on the nominee list and give it bank. Then rest is assured I guess. Moreover there will be no question of lawyers and stuff as he will have it clearly stated that value access to be given to those particular siblings and thus they will understand the rest once they see what's inside it. Also do write down thenoruvate keys, pass keys and everything needed to access the wallet and put it alongside the hardware wallet in the bank vault. :-)

Password manager doesnt hold your private keys.So it is useless in this case. There is a project which promises to keep your private keys somewhere safe place and they will forward to your relatives if they can prove your death legally.Unfortunately i forgot the name of project.

The good thing to do about your bitcoin is to store it into paper wallet and save a copy for yourself and for your niece or cousins. Then have a conversation to them that if your gonna leave the world use the paper wallet that you're going to give to them.

Or maybe you can store your bitcoin in different paper wallets and give it to them. Then talk to them that if your gonna die use that paper wallet you've given to them for their education, expenses or whatsoever.

I am not yet thinking of this possibility. I guess you don't have to personally give your private keys to your little nieces and nephews. A little note with instructions and details will do. You just have to store them somewhere very safe. A tiny safe vault is enough for that little piece of paper. How lucky your young relatives must be!

Well possibilities cant really be removed because all of us do really come to a state on where we all died.In his situation hes single and don't have a family he do tend to leave those bitcoins to his nieces and nephews which they are really lucky because they don't have any awareness that there is already a money that awaits for them incase op would die but thinking off that he would still able to make his own family and yet we wont able to know on when we would die.It would either to last 100 years.  Smiley

My girlfriend knows the passwords from my purses and in case of my death she will be able to pick up her coins. Also, I will tell my children my passwords when they are already old enough to use my money.

You could set a puzzle or treasure map. Tell your nephews and nieces a story on how to get. Of course they have to be smart enough.

I suggest to you that if your siblings dont care with any of your digital money you want to give, you can just tell it to them so incase they need money, they can do something about what you are saying. In that way, your bitcoin or your money can still be safe and be spend by your family or relatives.

This is a big question that you put. Like most of the guys i don't have an answer that could help you, or perhaps... i think that you could make a safe deposit box in a  bank on the name of your nesses, and to be sure that the time is not wasted (if you have altcoins) put a high price order on them so the possibility to gain more money when they will be gowned up will be bigger. 10x for the big question Smiley

I believe with my son and wife
So what to fear with death
They will receive everything..

Well your right we have our family's to be trusted on what we have now. There is nothing to fear because we don't know what is the exact time and exact way we will die. So that we must trust God in our earthly life and to trust in him to all blessing that we receive. Our family is the only one who will receive everything.

Tell your password to some trustworthy person in your circle of influence so that if your family need them after you they may use these coin to overcome bad days and this system should also be implemented by bitcoin administrators at the time of signup server must ask for the second part to involve, so if any loss occur the coin must be given that person to use.
