Hello,

I am new to the whole Bitcoin-scene and bought my first Bitcoins today for 110€ at an local BATMTWO BITCOIN ATM (Picture related). Because I have no wallet on my phone, I entered my e-mail adress to receive the Bitcoins, but after 3 hours I still haven't got any notification or anything else. Is it normal that transactions on an ATM take that long? I wasn't able to find anything regarding this topic via Google.

And yes, I entered the right adress and checked my spam folder.

Try to contact the company . For sure they have a phone number where you can reach them. Did you check the spam/junk folder on your email?

Also be sure you are keeping the recipe.

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I have the phone number of the company, but sadly there are not reachable until monday. The recipe should have been sent to the same mail, but I haven't received it neither. Luckily I have made a photo of the screen and confirmation on the ATM. Is it possible that it takes that long for an ATM to process my purchase or is there probably some kind of problem?

You already checked your spam folder and still it isn't here? Which email are you using? Because sometimes it happens and email comes very late. I doubt you will receive email after transaction confirmation. Don't they have 24/7 customer service? In this situation you can't fix anything I think. Just wait and call them.

Not sure how this bitcoin ATM thing works, what I am wondering is, how can they send the bitcoins to a email? As far as I know, bitcoins can only be sent to a wallet address. Will any member with on hand experience throw some light on this please?

When you bought the coins through ATM did you checked the procedure correctly as i think for receiving the bitcoin you need bitcoin wallet and the bitcoin wallet address which is used to receive the bitcoins from any where , i dont think that through email id you can receive the bitcoins.

Yes, I have already checked my mail account (including my spam folder) several times, still nothing. I am using Gmail and have also tried to send other emails to this adress. I have received all of them without a problem. Sadly, they don't have a 24/7 support hotline, but I am definitely trying to contact them tomorrow - thanks for the help. Do you know if they can see how much money I have tried to transfer? Sadly I have only made a photo of the confirmation screen.

I will just asked the same question a while ago but seek information at how is that possible.

As far as my reading is concerned, that ATM consist of suppported exchanges and wallets where users want to deposit bitcoin. It's impossible that OP didn't found it at the screen since he execute the selling and now waiting for confirmation email. And since he doesn't stated on what wallet it should be received , we have no idea since email was just he mentioned.

OP can you clear things to us? Never had an idea with the company's system.

The ATM offered the possibility to send it via email, I don't have a bitcoin wallet yet and wanted to install it afterwards when I get home. I definitely finished the whole process and even watched some youtube videos with the same ATM to make sure, that I made everything right. (Video related - it was the same ATM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FauhmxgCzwI)

Nice video. I watched the video but it's only up to the success page.

Anyways, for your question above if it's normal for bitcoin ATM to have a late response, it should be not that long since it's automated. Well then you have no other choice but to wait for BATMTWO's response since they there aren't reachable until Monday there. Update us here.

It seems strange to me too. Well, I have never even see bitcoin ATM, but I thought that if you buy bitcoins you enter the number of your wallet plus some other private information to they send you a notification.
Slow transactions are not new topic here. Once I was waiting for 5 days (!). I really hope it's just the transaction delay problem. Good luck!

peculiar. i would have thought owning a wallet before buying would make more sense.

never heard of buying to an email address, though technically it should be possible.

what is the point in doing things in a way that pretty much no-one has heard of nor experienced??

a wallet is free and you can play with it to get used to it...

even better there are testnet wallets and coins for educational purposes,,,

Just kinda wondering here because for a bitcoin newbie, that first thing normally to be done was finding and creating a wallet. After that purchasing it will just follow and optional since most newbies found methods first to earn bitcoin without buying it. You buy bitcoin without a bitcoin wallet although it's possible to the ATM, I can't think of a way why you made up an idea like that since you take time reading. How can send to email address be possible?

Ok we will wait for your update. No other person or institution can help you here but the company itself.

Finally I can answer. I talked with the company on monday and first they said that the whole transaction looked okay in their books, but they acknowledged that they had a few issues with this certain ATM in the past. So they sent me they whole email again manually and finally I received it a few hours ago.

The mail contained three different data, a privatekey.txt, a adress.txt and a privatekey_multibit.key data. I know that this is now a pretty newbie-question, but I just want to avoid any further difficulties: I have set up Electrum and would like to import the bitcoin now in my wallet. As far as I have read it, it's just done by clicking Wallet -> Private keys -> Sweep -> and then entering the private key and the adress that I received in the email in the fields. Is this correct?

Thanks for the help  Smiley.
