I wonder exactly how many of these ASICs were produced since the ETH difficulty is still dropping. Basically we are at Feb 2018 difficulty levels and looks like difficulty can still keep dropping. But yet these ASICs are being powered up to replace multiple GPU rigs.

I remember back in Spring 2014 with Litecoin Scrypt when the profitablity of GPUs was dropping heavily but the difficulty kept sky-rocketing even though the LTC price was low. Its completely opposite situation right now. I guess its due to the ETH algo being more ASIC resistant than Scrypt was.

Please learn the difference between break even and return of investment before making educational charts. Assuming that the price and difficulty stays the same (it won't), the device will pay itself in 43.5 months ("1305 days ROI" in your chart) and after that it will start mining for profit.

For me to break even or ROI is the same in the mining world , just like for other 100's members here or other 1000's of miners all over the world. Thats what we using here and on other forums, we can call it a miner slang ( just like HODL for example)... some super smart a...hole always showing up and try to be sm....ass about roi or break even ...

This for your education :
Please learn the difference between mining and process of adding transaction records to Bitcoin's public ledger  Grin ( maybe much easier just to say mining right ? and everyone know what you are talking about )  Grin

Please stop using "MINING" when you mean the process of adding transaction records to Bitcoin's public ledger of past transactions and trying to solve a computationally difficult puzzle.... it makes you sound dumb.  Grin right ?

Please stop using "MINING RIG" when you talking about a single computer system that performs the necessary computations for the process of adding transaction records to Bitcoin's public ledger of past transactions and trying to solve a computationally difficult puzzle .... it makes you sound dumb and stupid  Grin right ?

If you want to discuss ROI or Break Even Then you have nothing to do in this topic , in this section on this forum (Bitcoin Forum > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Mining (Altcoins)), you should open your own topic Maybe somewhere under :  Bitcoin Forum > Other > Serious discussion
You can start your own Serious discussion for a real smart members, like you are , we simple miners just keep using ROI  Grin
(most of us give a sht about the "difference between break even and return of investment" all of us know what we are talking about ... to be honest ... )

Yes Smiley you are totally right Wink

Assuming that the price and difficulty stays the same (it won't),
Really Huh it wont stays the same Huh OMG !!! Thats something new ( maybe for you ), but all of us know , difficulty is changing , exchange rate is changing minutes by minutes Smiley
who said it will stay the same ??
Just for the clarification, if you can not read my little chart for some reason, and bc im so nice  im trying to help you with some basic education  Grin

This topic can be your starting point for your education HERE
To discuss ROI please go to this topic, and be smart there , i would call ROI in our case as a miner slang, and every miners know what we are talking about
