Only if you have a really cheap/old phone that is still recent enough to mine. It has gotten to the point where even buying a $20 Moto E isn't a sure bet. Expect the device to have a good chance of breaking down at 6 months. (That was my experience with ZTEs, with 3 out of 4 breaking down in about 6 months.)

At this point, I have three Moto Es, a ZTE Speed, and a Kindle Fire mining altcoins and making about $60/month (about $35/month if I don't count the altcoin that seems to be on the verge of collapse) at current difficulty levels. (Not telling which altcoins because if I did, a bunch of miners would pounce on it and skyrocket the difficulty...) In the scrap pile are a cheap Allwinner tablet, two ZTE Paragons, a ZTE Speed, and a Nook Color, all of which had paid for themselves except the Nook Color that wasn't originally bought for mining. The previously mentioned Kindle Fire also had a failure but I was able to repair it.

I use cryptocurrency and solar power to help my best friend Naomi Wu... And I'm proud of it!

If looking to mine a solid crypto it seems phones are not good. User posted 16 satoshi a year? You can get 3 to 4 times this amount with faucet claim. In other words, use your phone for solving captcha like MRAI or claim faucet. Kill time when you are stuck on a waiting room or the public bus.
