Greetings, everybody! Nice to meet you, I'm new on this forum.

Recently I wanted to start trading cryptocurrencies, however I find it difficult to choose a trading platform operating in Europe. I did a lot of research, going through every educational site I could find on the best trading platforms, but I always ended up either finding a platform that only works with bitcoins or which requires me to deposit already purchased cryptocurrencies from another platform. So, could you please give me an advice on where to start? I search for a place for me to deposit real cash, operating in Europe with multiple cryptocurrencies. I tried coinbase, as they seem like the easy choice, but I hear a lot of people being discontent with their services, so I would appreciate it if somebody told me about another route for me to trade crypto. Thank you in advance.  Smiley Smiley

Cheers!

kraken allows you to deposit euros and has quite a few alt coins as well as bitcoin.

it looks like their verification is pretty slow at the moment though.

other than that if you want to trade alts then buy bitcoin wherever and go to one of the alt only exchanges like bittrex. it don't matter where you live then. bitcoinic.nl, bitcoin.de, localbitcoins, all are good option to buy bitcoin in europe.

Basically every exchange seems to have super slow verification since they've basically given up on customer support.  OP, you'll find that no matter what exchange you choose a large number of people will complain about it.

You're right that a lot of people trading with Euros go on Kraken.  Bitstamp is another big one, and Coinbase is fine too but you can only get Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin on there.

If you want altcoins, Kraken will sell you some of them but you're usually much better off just buying them with BTC since that's where most of their trading volume is, and signing up to altcoin exchanges is super easy.

Hopefully, with the concept of decentralised exchanges coming about, we will have a better alternative to all these centralised exchanges. I understand the need for verification if only to solely survive as a business entity in the real world... but no exchange can handle customer support required, or have trained staff to deal with the fraud that it will of course attract.

I made a research on Kraken as well, the only way I'm trading there is if I buy some bitcoins from wherever, as you put it. However, I noticed the traders at exchanges like localbitcoins sell large quantities of bitcoin for quite a bit of money. And I wanted to start with a small amount just to see how the system works, so to speak. I don't want to risk buying a lot of crypto, then losing it to a hacker only because I'm not very experienced at keeping it safe.

I'm fine with waiting through the process of signing up on coinbase, but some of the reviews I see about that platform... yikes! Frozen accounts, non-existant customer support, a bunch of people complained they even sent cash to their Lithuanian bank account, but never got a response about their account being activated. I suppose if I was to trade through coinbase, I would just instantly transfer my coins somewhere else after I'm done with the trade. Oh wait, people complain sometimes coinbase fail to transfer money to other accounts as well.

Kraken allows you to deposit EUROS through a SEPA wire, it's as fast as your bank is (less than 24h for me), no fee. To withdraw EUROS it's 0.09€. You can buy/sell BTC with a 0.25% fee.

A lot of people have suggested kraken but personally I find bitstamp to be the best, their verification was very fast for me and I heard kraken can take months plus as far as I know bitstamp doesn't have any daily limits like kraken does. For altcoins I use bittrex.

Try spectrocoin.com to buy bitcoin, I got virified in one hour and half.
fees for deposit through credit card cost 1.05% and when I exchange my EURO to bitcoin they take about 4$.
for trading I recommend you to use bittrex.

I thank you all for your replies, I suppose I didn't really understand how simple Kraken's verification was the first time, otherwise I would have picked it a month ago.  Smiley

Care about Kraken now, they're having massive problems with their server. I am not able to create a single trade since weeks.
