I sent 50mbtc to one of the addresses that said it had a 48% win chance, so like a 2x payout. Their site says near instant notification of win or loss. I haven't seen anything. Satoshi dice confuses me and I just tried it anyways. All I had was 50 mbtc either way. Cheesy

Is there like a 10 minute wait, as in instant, or did I do something wrong and lose 50mbtc. I'm using the bitcoin qt 4.8.3

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I tried also with Bitcoin-qt (0.001), the recommended test amount but never received anything. Do you have to wait for 6 confirmations before receiving a win or lose?

sadly its an easy mistake but they might refund it if you go onto there twitter account and tell them (depends if its worth the time and effort for you)

at the end of the day id put it down to a lesson (everybody has lost bitcoins at some point) you can think of it as a cheap lesson could have been alot worse

They specify to read the warning first (below from home page). I am not worried about the .001 bitcoins; just wanted to test my Bitcoin-qt wallet before wagering 1 + bitcoins.

"Only use wallets that allow you to receive Bitcoin from the same address you sent from. If you're not sure, test with .001 Bitcoins. If you get nothing back, then your wallet is not compatible."

ok i see it now which version of bitcoin are you using the official version is v0.8.1 from bitcoin.org or if your reading the qt version something like 4.8.3 any older than this probably wont work due to the client only having 0.0000 space

I am using the latest version(v0.8.1). I did the test late last night so the transaction had only 2 confirms when I closed the client; will check my wallet later tonight. I also sent .001 from my blockchain.info wallet and never received a loss confirm. That transaction has over 50 + confirms. I am afraid to send anything over .01 since the tests have failed. The good news is my litecoin wagers are working on litecoindice.com!

The only way to win at satoshidice is by not playing at all.

If you look at the "leader boards" that should tell you something. Check the BitCoins bet vs won for those users, wow, no one is ahead - even by a little!

I actually received the loss confirm (0.001). Had to wait for transactions to sink. I got to say, litecoindice.com is much fast.
