I think that bitcoin (and most altcoins) will keep going down until and even after August. This trend will be followed to a huge increase soon after though - lets give it few months. I don't think it's time to panic, who's been actively investing in bitcoin for the last years knows how this market goes - nothing new.
I'm also believing with regards to that speculation. Well I see how the dev of altcoins are working for thier coins which I can say I'm satisfied. I think big whales are just playing great in crypto currency and they are preparing for a great timing and they'll pump altcoins soon. We are all looking froward for that so we can sell our coins we are holding and invest it in ICO.

Crypto market is already in short term bear.
But when you look long range, it was nearly always bullish since 2014. Always. Every coins.

Unfortunately, not everyone entered the market 4 months ago.

Personal context for our(=family) crypto involvement:

Still on the positive on our crypto (like +50%) but can easily go in negative if this trend continues. I was in the market ~1.5 years now, but increased investment 2 months ago.
Our cryptoporfolio is about 1/3rd of our total wealth. Rest is in house, car, cash. Also, our monthly income is about 1/10th of our cryptoportfolio. All in all, significant investment for us. But not to the point that we would be bankrupt if it was 0 instead of x>0.

I would much rather have a steady 1% per month than jump 200% a month and down 50% next.

Regardless, this is how markets operate. bulls and bears.

hodl, and we will see how this goes.

4 tips for all newbs:

1- diversify: meaning also fiat/stocks/bonds/estate whatever. if you are 20, you can put 70% into cryto, take 1% off that for every year beyond 20
2- do not invest borrowed money
3- do not sell when down, only sell when it is going up
4- do not buy when going up, only buy when it has crashes in a 2-5 day period

I think this year, the attention on btc, new investors, boom of alts, started something, this is just the first pump, consolidation, the whole cycle has changed. You can't compare it to other years. People are getting in because of the real potential in coming years. Most projects are just developing and don't have a product yet. Look at the road maps of most coins, the end of this year and 2018 bring a lot of good things. Funny how so many people dumped out of fear, probably at a loss. If you believe in the quality projects, understand what they are, not just gambling with random coins, then you hold and know there is potential. Not every day can have 100% gains. I'm still holding, with many coins at a loss, but trust they will go somewhere.

Maybe it is not a bad thing for the cryptocurrency market. The bubble is big enough and there are too many scams, the price should turn to be a reasonable level and the teams should focus on doing something real, rather then collecting a lot of money and do nothing.

I agree with this comment, It seems that everyone is just trying to cash in on a quick ICO without creating real value. Hopefully this correction will allow the real Dev's who want to make good technological advances prosper in the long run and weed out all of the scam artists.

i think there should be a symbol that the bear market come, i don't know the reason why do almost all the coin price include btc and eth do down

The crypto market always moves together because when people are nervous about the industry as a whole they convert their money to fiat regardless of what coin or token they hold.

There are always be a panic selling because of the price drop and not increase in few days
And if after a couple of weeks it has no change in prices, and suddenly drop, then people will rush to sell and make everything go down

No one knows with certainty and its largely due to the forces of demand and supply and how the market participants reacts to the market activities which in this case I see it as normal in the crypto-business. Even in the fiat exchange market where stocks are traded, the reasons why prices drops on increase is because of the regulations but in crypto forces behind decision making of participants are not obvious to everyone.

If you can stand to hold, I would suggest you do but if not, just count your losses and move on.

Volatility brings in opportunities for both buying and selling. How many people have a plan when you purchase a currency? Are you going to: hold for 6 months to a year, do you have a target price to sell at, are you willing to make a quick 10% and move on, do you want to participate in ICO's? Have a plan, stick to it and you will probably end up in a pretty good place. This is only the beginning, think of how many more people will be into crypto in 2-5 years. Invest, hold, stake, harvest, set up a node if you can afford it and let the money work for you.

it's when everybody dump that you hold stronger, and when everybody pump you dump everything, did you not learned anything about trading?, now it's the time to hold not in a bubble, we were in a bubble or sort of, and investors dumped now just wait for the next pump
