Police arrest 30 in raid on online drug network

http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Police-arrest-30-in-raid-on-online-drug-network-312371

Quote
Police from the national economic crimes unit on Tuesday arrested 30 suspects they say ran an online drug distribution network, cooking and selling drugs through using the “Darknet”, according to police.
...
Police said that they believe the system may have been using "bitcoins", the peer-to-peer digital currency.

Sounds similar to the Silk Road.

Sounds similar to the Silk Road.

But it doesn't say "silk road". DPR isn't that much of an idiot to do something like giving identifying information to dudes on the internet, giving dudes his addresses, and so on.

Interesting that it was "economic crimes unit" (?) and they specifically mention the syndicate was using bitcoins ... next time they bust a Cartel they should make special mention if they were using Dollars, Euros, Yen, Shekels ... or IMF Special Drawing Rights.

I should mention this is an Israeli newspaper, also relating the operation to Tel Aviv. Sounds to me like an Israeli operation was busted...

I very very highly doubt this is the Silk Road. But it sounds like a smuggling service behind tor.

Less to do with any breech of Tor or silk roads security and more to do with perpetrators coughing up anything that might mitigate their circumstances.
