This is just a quick question, How long are funds locked at bter.com? Its my first time using a exchange and I'm just wondering.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

What do you mean, the funds are locked? Did you place an order and forget to cancel? Just scroll down and click cancel, and the funds will go "back" to available balance. If you have a buy or sell order that is still awaiting fulfillment, it will idle in "locked" mode
