Biggest Threats to Altcoin Success?

I think that it doesn’t make any sense to talk about threats to all altcoins as a whole. Because the most successful of them have already occupied their niche on the market which is slightly different from Bitcoin’s. Ethereum, for example.
So if there is a threat to all altcoins, this will probably be threat to cryptocurrency itself, including Bitcoin as well.
