I've tried mining a little but dang, that's gonna take a long time unless I can get some serious hardware.

Am thinking of ASICMiner shares but they seem to be skyrocketing for some reason. 1.5 BTC for 45 MHash? Wow. Either you know something I don't or ....

Paypal. Um no. Not for me.

Faucets. Um no.

Maybe if I find out the grouchy old lady next door has a BTC wallet, I'll go scam her.  Grin

There's lots of members on the forum selling bitcoins or you can always sell something yourself for bitcoins.

Faucets work well, but the key is storing all your payments and then cashing out all at once. Otherwise you will rack up a bunch of fees if you ever try to Send the coins. Or you can wait a little while and the fees will go down.

None of the above.  I can't participate in your poll, because the method I used isn't listed.

I exchanged U.S. Dollars for my first full bitcoin at an online currency exchange.

You mean a couple of years ago, you can hardly get anything worth your time from it.

Mined it on Date: 5/29/2011 at Slush pool (that's the date of the cash out transaction of exactly 1BTC). I haven't mined that many in total but I do know the exact date and time I owned my first full Bitcoin and I mined it myself Smiley

@miningusa - good idea!

@sandmac, @evilscoop and @DannyHamilton - added a new option for fiats!

This is cool!

So, no one here's used a security to get their coins? Are ASICMiner (direct, pt, fractional pt, etc) shares really rare compared to the general BTC population at large?

I'm not knocking it, just being very curious.
