I have a plan.

1. Everyone registers on Wikipedia.
2. Checks the article.
3. If it's incorrect - corrects it.
4. Repeat in a couple of days.

I bet those suckers will give up 1st.

so it's kind of terrifying that you would give your child a dollar bill to purchase lemonade and it would have trace amounts of dangerous narcotics on it.
*trace* being the key word - trace in that context means *almost undetectable*

It's probably got trace amounts of fecal matter on it as well, and 87,412 other things you don't want to know about.

I don't think that fecal matter is a fine enough powder to contaminate bills that efficiently.

Even if it's almost undetectable it still doesn't stop me from pointing out the hypocrisy of running around claiming BTC is associated with cybercrime when you have drugs on almost every single US dollar out there..

I think the sentence has already been removed from US dollar and changed on the bitcoin side.  Now it says "some" instead of "a large share" for the bitcoin article.  I suspect this is going to change many times in the next few days.  Take a look now:

I actually like this idea quite a lot - the sooner people start thinking about Bitcoin as "digital cash" - and stop thinking about it as a "hacker currency", "terrorist money", "drug exchange", or "anti-political funds" - the better it is for general adoption.

This will result in edit wars, and the final word comes from the admins.
On the other hand, I added “Similar to other currencies” to the Bitcoin article. Let's see how many minutes this will last.

Oh Brother, you people are engaging in edit wars on Wikipedia, cut it out, that is the hallmark of ideologues and your going to make yourself a laughing stock.  If you don't like the public perception about black-markets and gambling then try to change that, and the best way to do that would be if it were not TRUE.

What's exactly your point? How is buying drugs with Bitcoin different than buying them with dollars?

When is the last time you saw someone purchase illegal drugs online with dollars?

I'm not sure that it matters whether it is online or face-to-face. The article didn't qualify the spending as being online but rather a broader statement that encompassed all spending.

Also, I'd like to point out that there are many, many forums where people can buy pharmaceuticals from guys in other countries, and much of their exchange is done via PayPal or Western Union or MoneyPak or whatever.
