Anyone have experience with the new Dirt 3 Special Edition card?  Not the one with the complimentary Dirt 3 but the Special Edition one with the dual fan layout(new box)?

OC potential, stock speed hashing, potential BIOS modding?

I've used the Gigabye 6850 which has a simaler layout and it is super quiet and stays pretty cool.  I'm looking forward to testing this guy out but I still have to wait 3 days for the new case to get here.

I've bought the Silverstone Raven 2, this new 6950 to flush out a tri-card i7 package and 2 6970's to round out my mining hardware.  All paid for with Bitcoins I'm happy to say.  No cash out of pocket.

Oh and I was lucky enough to pick up a used 5870 Vapor X to pair with my existing one in another system for a measly $125

It's so damn hot in my place now!

As I was thinking of upgrading my GPU to the 6950 at some point (unless I;m told ny different),I'd b interested in how this card performs and how many Mhash/s this gives u and whether OC'ing is necessary (or how well n how far can u OC this card)

So gd luck 4 u in getting it up n running Smiley

I have a Gigabyte 6950 2GB. After BIOS flashing and running at 950mhz, it can do 405M/s. If you don't mind the fan noise you can overclock to 1000mhz without much problems, giving you around 430M/s.

The MSI twin frozr 6950s that I purchased (three) were running at 300MHash/s prior to flags/unlocking/overclocking.  Now they are at 410MHash/s.  One of them, in my gaming rig, I've kept at 360~ since I left the Ram clocked (didn't underclock it).

Thanx for the gr8 reponses to my post.

I never nkew how fast these cards are for mining esp when unlocked.

Question is finding the cheapest 1 in UK as they're pricier than in the US but would customs tax takeaway hte savings I'd make by buying it from US or not.

If you can help me find cheapest one thats whether its new in Uk or used on Ebay thats working I can save quite a bit.

That's be gr8

Thank you  Smiley

Tried plenty of retailers, small shops and price comparison sites, overclockers.uk has the best rate at 179£ per card.

Then again, they have a this week- only exclusive offer for the 5850 xtreme for 116 pounds. I'd buy some if I were you.

Can vouch for the 5850, have 4 of them in my rigs. Very quiet and they run cool. Output easily 310-320+ mhash/s at modest OC

Thanx a lot Jack for hte helpful reply. I got some Questions about the Radeon HD 6950.

1.What kind of MHash/s can I expect from stock and OC'd from 6950 compared to 5850?

2.When mining solo (I have to because of router issues screwing up port forwarding atm) how much BTC can I expect with the 2 different cards? If I've missed nythin then lemme know

3.What kinda power use can I expect from the 2 cards in stock speeds and OC?I ask because where i am atm, elec is rather pricy (It's more than £0.14 in UK now,the part of UK i'm in anyway, more like £0.2 sumthin but i'm never sure cus BG are hiking prices again)

4.What kind of draw (in AMPs) can I expect from PSU as my PSU can only supply 36A total when hte 2 +12V rails are combined?

Thanx again 4 the help guys :-)

I'd also like to say thanx by givin ya a link to my blog:www.film2240.wordpress.com

Hope u enjoy it.
