[Q] How many transactions per sec can DeepOnion handle?[Answer]: The transactions per second depends on the block size and block interval. The average transaction size is about 500 Bytes. The DeepOnion blocksize is 1.5MB, so each block can hold about 3000 transactions. Now the block interval: DeepOnion is a mixed PoW/PoS coin, PoW interval is 240 second on average, but PoS is a lot more frequent, target at 60 sec. This means our theoretical combined block time is 48 seconds (240 / 5). To verify this, we checked last 24 hours blocks, this is what we get: - block 223460 occurs at Nov 25, 2017 11:59:36AM - block 225285 occurs at Nov 26, 2017 11:59:05AM This means we have 1825 blocks in 24 hours, which means our average block time is 47 second, which perfectly matches our designed target block time. Thus, we have one block 48 second, which can handle 3000 transactions, this mean DeepOnion can handle the maximum transaction rate: 3000/48 = 62.5 tx/second. As a comparison: bitcoin has block interval 600 sec, and has a block size of 1MB, this translate to a maximum process rate of 3-4 tx/second. Even with BitcoinCash which increases block size to 8MB, that can process only about 27 tx/second. DeepOnion is much better that this!!! For more question and answers join Live Q & A Session https://deeponion.org/community/threads/live-q-a-reboot-nov-30th-post-questions-here.9730/ (Live Q&a Reboot - Nov 30th - Post Questions Here) Very interesting facts... even Bitcoincash boasted they handle more tx, it's only 43% of what DeepOnion can handle...

Is the deeponion forum down?
No. They are just having some maintenance as what Admin says in Deeponion forum "Everydays same times usually we do maintenance on sql server, main webpage stays accessible www.deeponion.org but forums stay closed temporarily. As our traffic grows we set new parameters. So we increased our capacity as we noticed traffic growing." So no need to be shocked or panic when this happen again. Just hold on.

There is no capacity problem on deeponion secured blockchain , transactions will be delivered fast enough for many years to come.

Is it ERC-20 compatible?
It is not a token based on Ethereum. DeepOnion is a coin with specifics given as described at our site https://deeponion.org.

I added 3000 more onions today to my portfolio. I feel and hope I am doing it right. Fingers crossed, cause right after I bought, market started falling and I was a bit worried for an untimely investment, however, I am in for long term and I am going to ignore the intermediate swings and focus on long term.
I've done that, a few months ago. Bought a lot of Onions, the price drop, and Bitcoin kept raising. Timing is so important. But no complaints. Good investment, I did the same. Now we just need to wait. With this one I have no doubt

DeepOnion is completely anonymous and its very good. But have a lot of coins like this. Than DeepOnion better for example Zcash, Dash, Monero ?
Of all of those you mention DeepOnion is the only one with TOR integration I believe, I don't much about the other coins but there's a hell of a community behind DeepOnion (look at the forum and you'll see) and I think a good community and a great dev team (which DO has) are key for a coin to succeed so I would pick DO over the others, of course Monero is more "advanced" probably since it's been more time since it came out so it's more well known that DO, but still, I think now is a great time to buy DeepOnion, I don't think it will be this cheap for much longer, if you're looking for a great long term investment DeepOnion is what you need Yes mate you are right: good community and good team it's very important. Do not get me wrong, I dont think that DeepOnion is bad, just analyse and compare with othe similar coins. Well yeah but it's difficult to compare them because they are in different development stages, DeepOnion came out this year, DeepSend hasn't been released yet, there's Votecentral still to come, DeepOnion doesn't even have 6 months on the market while Monero and Dash have been out for over 3 years, yes they are the 'prime' cryptos right now they are in the top10 of best coins for sure but it took them quite a while to get there, I can't see why DO can't surpass them, I would like to see what Monero and Dash did in their first 6 months, I think DO did pretty good and I think it's going to do even better over the next few years. Especialy in recent weeks Dash and Monero "to the mooon" ;-) I want to participate in airdrop (In your signature ;-)) What kind a wallet should I specify? It's erc20?

The deeponion project needs to gain a lot of popularity and distribution among users. We all need to promote the project among social networks. Just need to be interested in the deeponion business project. I believe that the efforts of the community will manage to do this. Deeponion is the best project!

The site is ok now. I just refreshed it and just like nothing happened. Got me worried a second there.
Me too! I was shocked and thought I was banned. But they are just having a maintenance on sql server, main webpage stays accessible www.deeponion.org but forums stay closed temporarily. As our traffic grows we set new parameters. So we increased our capacity as we noticed traffic growing. This what Admin says at https://deeponion.org/community/threads/is-deeponion-having-maintenance.13112/

The big onion, the NO1 in the airdrop world, is really the best marketing tool. I admire the team's ability and hope it has developed well all the way.
