yea you late to buy btc. if you buy btc 1 year ago only 600$ 1 btc. today 4000$ so I tell you are late for buy. but btc price always increase so every day is better for buy. you decision is good cause you want crypto currency invest. I think don't any losses in crypto currency if you have enough knowledge.
