I am thinking of maybe putting some profits into Tether to "secure" them, but do they have a wallet for Tether, or how are you supposed to store them? I see they have some sort of mobile app, is that the wallet? Most people I have talked to does not recommend mobile wallets?

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I've never really thought about storing Tether long-term. I only use it short-term on the exchanges for when my coin is falling against USD, so that I can buy back in at a lower point. If I wanted the USD long-term, I'd withdraw as fiat.

Sorry I haven't been much help!

you have to download and run Omni Core Wallet.

It's a clone of Bitcoin QT that supports all Omni protocol coins if which Tether is.

Omni is to Bitcoin what a token is to Ethereum.

Okay. The old man told me to take any rug in the house.

I've heard somewhere Tether was centralized, so with this wallet, it's not, right ?

What are the risks to store our money in Tether ?

Omni needs to download the whole bitcoin blockchain or not ?

I'm really interested to tether to store some dollars I don't want to put back in the bank, but I feel completely noob with this altcoin  Cheesy

What are the risks to store our money in Tether ?

One risk is that since the Wells Fargo issue in April, they're struggling to maintain the peg at $1.
It's only moving a few cents either way, but obviously that can easily turn a profit into a loss... so always check the current price before converting coins to/from Tether.

My question is also about Tether. Why is it that it fluctuates? Basically can you make money swing trading the Tether :O?

It is this one? : http://www.omnilayer.org/download.html#download

I read you have to download 100gb blockchain though? Is there a stand alone download for it, as syncing from wallets are usually super slow.

Also when using the Omni Core Wallet do you need to send some BTC to the address to be able to store Tether and MaidSafe etc?

Here's why it's struggling to keep the peg: http://bitcoinist.com/dammit-tether-one-job/

And the move to the LTC chain will (unless I misunderstand) allow USDT->fiat USD: http://www.livebitcoinnews.com/tether-will-soon-issue-usdt-tokens-omni-litecoin-network/
