Welcome to the forum,
Depends on what you consider a mining farm, I'd guess you are not going to build a PC with 3-4 GPUs. Buying a whole Bitcoin miner can be quite expensive
and need quite a long time to depreciate. Even more, Bitcoin mining is not that profitable, at least for an individual. The difficulty is quite high and it might render
it non profitable if you take into account the electricity costs, the cost of purchase etc.
I'd suggest you to look into Ethereum mining, you can even mine with your GPU, if it's a decent one. Try using Nicehash to see how it's working.
I am by no means any close to adept regarding mining, I'd wait for more replies if I were you, but in my opinion, I wouldn't recommend investing money into a mining rig now.

Yes it is. But I would suggest that instead of mining bitcoin why not just buy bitcoins and hold? Though it's not an active investment because you'll let your coin sleep at your wallet and just wait for the right time when the price hatches. You can also use GPU for mining alt coins not just ETHEREUM.

Ok..how about Zcash?

Any GPU mined altcoin is going to be better than Bitcoin mining....

1. MUCH better warranty on hardware...from 2-5 years on all PC equipment, mobos, hdds, ram,CPUs,GPUs,powersupplies, everything  Wink
Bitcoin miners get 180 days, you pay shipping back for work & pay for repair & maybe pay for a new hashboard!!!!! LMAO!!!!!! Cheesy
No hoping if the ASIC maker is going to sell more miners.......PC components available 24/7 on the internet...well AMD vid cards are hard to get for now,but I'm sure that will get better soon.

2. Better resale value....mining PCs are good for gamers, they always are willing to buy old hardware at decent prices  Wink

3. Almost always an altcoin to mine...eth is an exception, after eth, profit will be lower but there MAY be another coin that rockets up...never know...no one expected eth to do this well soooo  Wink

So learn to build PCs,just need a phillips screwdriver & some vids on youtube & an OS (win 7 for me) that can be loaded on multiple PCs  Cool

You need complete tutorial about “how to set up the mining rig”. I think you should checkout some forum threads in the bitcoin discussion.

Besides machines, electricity and internet connection you will also need proper synchronisation of your miners and pools over the internet. Pools are the main source of your income, they pay you bitcoins for solving the blocks over the given nodes. Its a it complex process and you must understand it before you proceed.
