is emoticon decoration or poluition

hi there ... i used to use emoticons, just because they are there, then i felt something is not right nor fair
i stopped to use emojies anymore .... i started to suggest other onliners to avoid to use emoticons online
we have textual communication so we can use: wow, lol, : ), : / or omg OMG, yes, yeah ah aaahaaahhaa
also, preferably to use avatars rather than photos or limbs ..... the internet is universal public networking
it is not social media like tv, we should avoid ask each other: where you are from?, internet is not interpol
our ip has to be our id, often i have feeling that some traditional forces want to dominate virtual area, too
solution is too close to bee perceived, so we have to create and off-center domain-area to be able to see it

I guess it comes down to the lack of human emotion and response when you are constantly dealing with text-based communication. The purpose of icons/emoji is to fill the gap in the communication and express ourselves in a way that would resemble real life while making it more entertaining. There are a lot of icons that imo would express such a thing better than your average sentence or ASCII based symbols.

I think that developers wanted to gain some advantage for their domination!
Emotions and rationality! Hah, that is weapon for emotives! Text is more rational!
Similarly, is at icons online: photo is more genital and avatar is rather genial.
Real life is entering into new sphere of virtual life and is bringing human emotions.

I think they're pretty useful, humans receive something better when it's represented visually. When I see a laughing emoticon at the end of a sentence I know that the person is laughing(happily or sarcastically) which brings further meaning to what he said. It's pollution when they are used multiple times and actually spammed. You can rarely use like two of them just to reinforce the feeling you're trying to show, but three and above is too much.

Agree . I don't see any big deal using emoticons .
For me emoticons are there to give more feelings in our messages .
It is use to tell people how they are going to read your message, or how you look like while typing/saying your message.

emoticons are about emotions, but they are in visual aspect chopped heads
that is mighty weapon in hands of some people, if flowers, then are decoration
if faces, then it is pollution, internet is more rational than emotional, though

It's pollution. It often makes text harder to read than it would be without emoticons.
Also, there are too much emoticons nowadays with smartphones.

i always use my  =D =/ and such sometimes use the click type but the text emotion statement is more than enough and faster too use

Me i always use emoticons because sometimes i didnt express my feelings to some words especially english bec english is not my mother tounge so i guess by having emoticons i can transfer to other people what i want to say..
