Gday all,

This obviously won't be news here I see now, but I wish to describe my experience and views of MultiBitHD and support :

I hit a critical bug in MultiBitHD 0.5.1 which somehow left some BTC in limbo (the dreaded 'unconfirmed'). Not easy to fix, and I found many others with a similar problem. Various solutions were suggested, none worked for me.
https://github.com/keepkey/multibit-hd/issues/862

I find this to be a shocking and complete failure of a critical piece of valuable modern software. This bug renders the program to be 100% totally useless - a wallet that can somehow randomly lose your BTC into some digital limbo is worthless.

Their response is :

KeepKey support is currently recommending the following:

A known bug in Multibit is causing the error you are experiencing. Your funds remain safe and recoverable.

Please recover your wallet with using Breadwallet or Simple Bitcoin wallet. They are both mobile wallets that work great with Multibit wallet word recovery. Breadwallet (https://breadwallet.com/) is available on App store and simple bitcoin wallet (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.btcontract.wallet&hl=en) is for Android.

We are working on other solutions for this issue and will advise when they are available.

They have one thing right - use another wallet, MultiBitHD is faulty rubbish - useless as a mission-critical program. Avoid it.

Pretty much...

There is also the dreaded "Password did not unlock the wallet" issue which they don't seem to have fixed yet either. I honestly have no idea what the KeepKey guys are doing... but these issues have been known about for months now and there doesn't seem to have been any hint of any update for MultiBit HD. The last commit to their github was on March 8th!!?!  Undecided
