Why did Vitalik use a self-customized hash algorithm when ethereum could have picked battle tested algo eg SHA-2, Keccak etc.

Why I always said this ugly crook is the toxic of this crypto, copy people ideas then claimed his own and make billions even if this scam is broken or he have no clue about it

@metalbean Look what sha-256 is doing to bitcoin. Centralised in china. If xi jinping says he doesn't like bitcoin, then bitcoin drops like a rock. Because he can pull the plug.

Ethash is used to the PoW (just like SHA256 is used for Bitcoin), why didn't ethereum picked something familiar for the PoW algorithm instead. |

Notably this is one of the few algos that being implemented on Cuda produce least heat. But that I guess is just pleasant accidental byproduct  |
