There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

There is numerous thread already out there to discuss this same topic and one of the recent one is this

I think the most useful source of information is from btc community members for a long time. On the internet there is information about btc but it is really accurate and useful or not then very little is known only when you experience it.
