I would like to switch from simple NiceHash mining app to standalone usage of Claymore miner and some low payout pool. How does one mine ETH and receive payments in BTC like with using NiceHash?

You can use other profit-switching pools like miningpoolhub or zpool.ca

I am not sure what is the minimum payout for the suggested pools. I was looking into https://eth.suprnova.cc/ which said to have a payout of 0,01 ETH. Is it possible to set autoconversion with such pool?

No.

You can use zpool.

Or you can use suprnova send'it to an exchange like bittrex.com

And manual convert.

I mine alt coins with https://simplemining.net...
I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions.
