There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Let's make a community effort to get listed on more legit exchanges (not ones that charge for a listing)

GOLDEN 3:
Poloniex
Cex-io
Bitfinex

+

Bleutrade (likely easiest one since daily trading volume still low)

Shouldn't someone registered on the exchange start a poll for NYC listing here first https://support.cex.io/hc/en-us/community/topics/200082417-Feature-Requests ?

Then post voting link here.

PR CAMPAIGN has started and will continue thru Thanksgiving on a weekly basis.

We are getting interest from letter posted to business owners.

I think branding NYC vs "NewYorkCoin" may attract more of a worldwide following. I think it's easier for people in India or China or California to invest in a fast, usable coin named NYC vs "NewYorkCoin". What do you all think?

NYC for what? Nice Young Coin, or Now You Can?   Wink

Seriously, you may rebrand NewYorkCoin to NYC but you might as well loose part of identity. Now there’s a story behind nycoin, clear understanding of target audience, good naming etc.
As for now, you want nycoin to proliferate worldwide while it never succeeded yet in NYCity itself, can’t really say if it is right or wrong.

Nevertheless generally I like your idea. Going worldwide might bring some significant capitalization impact. We’ll definitely need branding professional to create new vision and new “story” for NYC, new website, graphics, and logos and so on. If there’s no one to make things done at the moment you better postpone that until better times.

P.S. you should consider drafting WP as well.

The thanksgiving parade is a great advertising platform. Do you think the price will improve thanks to it?

Maybe I was unclear about the NYC vs NewYorkCoin branding. I don't want to change name of coin or change its story. I just feel that emphasizing "NYC" in all advertising and promotion vs emphasizing its full name (which will always remain NewYorkCoin).

I was thinking if the coin gets known as "NYC" as opposed to NewYorkCoin, it may have a better chance of penetrating markets outside of New York.

Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks to the Dev for being active and always working towards the progress of this coin.
I will suggest that this coin should be added to more exchanges like NovaExchange, Bitrex, CoinExchange, Cryptopia, Livecoin, etc. Any of these exchanges will help the coin a lot.
