Future of payments, low transaction fees, no central authority, partly because it is cool, pretty high risk reward ration in my investment.

There are many reasons why I use bitcoin and dream of a bitcoin driven future. First and foremost I like being in full control of my money, see:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=160292.0   Shocked Shocked Shocked Cry

Secondly, anonymity. I would like to be able to send X amount of 'money' to whomever I please without fear of having to explain my intentions or pay any sort of transaction fees/exchange rate fees.

Third. MINING! Who doesn't like the idea of making your own money.... literally!

Fourth. FUCK THE BANK  Wink

I'll try. I like to be up on the latest technology. I was kind of late to the game with Bitcoins, but have since jumped in with both feet. I like the fact that the things I want to do can only be paid with via Bitcoins, such as online poker (US Player), Usenet service, Usenet Indexers, and subscriptions to clown porn various websites.

Bitcoin is a global shift of the workings of the process of valuation and the functioning of a market by restoring a sense of transparency to money processes through the use of cryptography and technology.  I fully support something that can change the way people think and do business.  Having worked for a credit card company, I can't express how happy bringing power back to the people would make me.

I like Bitcoins because it secure, decentralized and there is no chargebacks. The idea behind Bitcoin fascinates me and i like how it shifts the way we think about and use our money. I hope this will lead to more innovative ways of send and receiving payments.

If successful, bitcoin can cut down on transaction costs for global transfers and provide store of value with far more predictable supply than paper money or any other resources. The anonymity is a bonus.  Smiley

I feel your pain. I'm only mining at 200Mh's and making about $0.80 a day. Fan blew out on my GPU, so I have a 80mm case fan zip-tied to the heatsink of my GPU. Ghetto-Fabulous!

FYI, if anyone has a spare GPU heatsink/fan combo for a Saphire 5770 they they don't want anymore, PM me. I'll pay shipping. (Michigan, USA)

Be careful about that site! Don't send more BTCs than you would to gambling sites.
Even if some payouts are done, it could still be a scam.

Bitcoin is a fun bit highly addictive thing! it is the money of the future, and its getting there!
The only problem with bitcoin is the electricity cost of mining it. I don't mind about the flunctuations in the market!
its fun and without a f******* goverment!

Your source of saying we are 'a scam' is a link to a Reddit post which is full of people who saying that have gotten a payout?

Quote
Update, transactions just came through over 2 days late and less than what they were supposed to be, shady, yet satisying.

Quote
At first, I was a bit wary of them. I sent a small transaction or two as a test to see if they really would pay out or not. So far, things have gone smoothly and I've gained a bit of BTC.
Quote
Support has always been more than happy to answer my questions and I suspect that many of the changes are due to my own feedback that I give them about positioning of information, rig orders, capacity, etc. I have mentioned that their growth is a bit unsustainable, clearly shown from the payout variances. I have suggested reducing the amount of packages they take in so they would be able to buffer out some of those variances.

Quote
I have done 20+ transactions with them since mid-april. Never had any problems. In fact it has almost always paid out early.

I love bitcoins for the fact that while the government is taking so much out of our paychecks, our money is much safer in bitcoin format. I am already having plenty of financial troubles, but this is a good way for me to make a bit of money on the side, and not have to worry about being taxed for my hard work. 12hdnTyB9oPBrZUwXUvBX3btA7iQZZC5w2

I love the low transaction fees and the idea of sticking it to the credit card companies. Love the ability to funds around the world and the relative anonymity.

1) BTC could helps people to find another way of democracy (democracy 2.0) based in much more transparency of public money.

2) BTC forces banks to do right things with Fiat currency.

3) BTC gives me an opportunity to become a millionaire!

Hey guys. Just looked up your site (actually found it through bitvisitor). I will definetly buy in since running my own rig for mining is less effective (power costs you know).

I like the idea behind your service.

To answer your original question:

My wallet is bitcoin-qt.

I'm using bitcoin, because I thought "Why not?", when finding out about it. I hope it will become a similarly widespread payment method for the internet as paypal is. Also some nice initiatives are based on bitcoin, like "TheBitMines" where bitcoin shall be used as a form of "saving" progress/achievements in a game in a form that can easily transfer over to other games. Which is a cool concept.

BTC adress in Sig.

I love Bitcoin because it is innovative and new.  The idea of a non-government currency and not regulated by government is great.  Gives us IT people a new project to tinker with. Smiley

I use Bitcoin because it's gives me back the one thing that's missing - control.  My peers and myself control the system, not a figure head or corporation.  Freedom is paramount and BTC helps to bring that back.

Free money to play around with (only use faucets so far). And this can be a legitimate way to have a RCE in almost any online game or MMO. That second one is my life goal. If I can make that happen or help, I will die happy.

Edit: Okay I just realized how much I actually typed, lol.

As mentioned below, I was actually able to use the Bitcoins I had collected to pay for needed medical care that my HMO did not provide.  Bitcoin actually saved my life (or at least allowed me a chance at having one).  My address is 1MVVBPSy3sbVpkv4n5SuzoRwsKAoQB1myM

Previous post below for posterity sake.
--
Bitcoin is really a great concept, and it's implementation so far has been incredibly impressive.  Besides a great choice for any peer to peer methods of currency exchange, it's a great way to pay for items in public without being charged transaction fees that are imposed by various credit card/phone company/other previous means of transferring money (yes, Bitcoins doesn't do away with the idea of transaction fees, however it's very transparent about what they are and you have a say in their amount).  What I like even more about it, since it's based around technology,  a lot of young, smart people are coming up with inventive ways to implement its use.  Also, it's starting to become accessible to more and more people (right now, if you have an Android phone, computer with install rights, etc you can mine Bitcoins).  Sure, you will likely end up using much more money in traditional power than you gain in Bitcoins you can trade, but even that wall is starting to come down (see the release of the 300MH/sec USB sticks).
--
Right now there are some roadblocks as far as full-scale adaptation, but that is due to the fact that there are no legal presences out there regarding the control over Bitcoin (partly due because there it is completely decentralized and literally anyone can become a user of Bitcoin, which is why it is attractive to many).  A lot of people criticized the EFF when they stopped taking Bitcoin donations, but they were more or less told by their internal lawyers (erm, we don't know if this is legal, and if it is, how we should file for it, etc).  I don't blame them for deciding to not accepting donations via BTC, however I think they are a prime group that should be lobbying for its acceptance, especially in the e-commerce world.
--
Erm sorry guys, went a little bit overboard there (obviously I am passionate about alt-coins =p).  Also, although I have yet to gain a whole 0.25 to add to your site's mining catalog (due to cashing almost everything I had in to pay for medical expenses), I have received 2 returns already from MU (normally a day earlier than predicted) and am currently in a queue that's expected to finish Tuesday.  Whatever you've heard, MU is the real deal.  Also some of you might find this amusing, but I came across an ad this morning, and based on the ad it seemed like they were offering a similar service as MU was.  When I clicked on the link for BTC Cheap I had almost wondered if I was actually on the MU site as things looked pretty familiar.  I'm all for giving people a chance, and I took a small risk the first time I tried MU, however I am personally avoiding this new site (even if it's legitimate, a lot of things are a bit "off").  Happy mining!

I use Bitcoin because it is a game changer. It literally allows anyone in the world with an Internet connection to send money to anyone else in the world and offers a certain level of anonymity. The transaction fees are small (or in some cases, nonexistent) and the entire thing is decentralized.

I'm new to these Crypto Currencies but they seem pretty neat. I like how they are anonymous and can't be frozen by the government

Bitcoins allow me to easily send money and pay online while being anonymous at the same time.  It also helps that it's decentralized and harder for governments to control.

Bitcoins fascinate me:
- no central authority
- anonymous and fast
- full control of money (transparency)

...but I hope that this revolution won't eat her children!

I love the concept of a decentralized currency, The anonymity and The talk of bitcoin mining gives me an adrenalin rush. Its a great alternative to the world currencies. Some day I will have my own bitcoin(s)

I like to be free of big brother participation in my money (at least).
It's like a gold rush times. Very dynamic community. Looks like world becomes little younger.

MiningUnited is a SCAM!

READ THIS THREAD: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204182.0

As the topic is bumped up again and again and the first pages are very positive:
There is a high  probability of it being scam!

Reasons to believe this:
- a very high amount of new accounts praising the service
- the domain is registered anonymously
- the waiting time is getting longer (-> hint to a long con)
- the interest rate is insanely high (>30% a week?)
- There are a lot of SatoshiDice transactions from MiningUnited adresses
- The excuse for this was kinda shady (some people want to donate in a "funny way")
- we've gotten no proof that they are really running a mining service yet

Well it's been over a week. I've been withholding making this public since I know once I do I will get a payment.

Here you have it, a real long time member saying they don't pay.

https://blockchain.info/address/181n25vgaDfbUYkaynUEo4haCyutcq3v4i

I know this is a long con but now it seems it's also a short con.

And cue the payment with an excuse... 3.. 2.. 1...

To those just now realizing it is a scam ... I mean really.  37% interest for a week?  Really?  Pirate only gave 7% and that was a massive masssive warning sign.

37% weekly interest is 1,286,676,865% annually.  Anyone know a miner which makes 1 billion % profit per year.  i.e. guy a $200 GPU, spend $100 in electricity and get $3,860,030,594 in annual mining rewards.  That is the kind of gross profits they would need ... just to break even and pay all of it out as interest.

Bitcoin isn't perfect but democratize the real and the invisible economy.
Now I can send money to my friends in other countries with very easy way without problems.
But the better attribute is that is open source and, then, is of all (common) and always improves.

Them saying that they were "hacked" now just basically confirms everything. I knew this would happen at some point, just surprised it took a month.
