Yup ICO is the best way to invest but choosing potential ICO projects is very difficult because there are so many ICOs who just want to make a profit and not care about the customers, it would be very bad for the ICO Investors

It pretty much depends how confident you are about the project/team. If it's a solid idea and you think it has good chance to flourish - the ICO will always be the best time to buy .
try to read the white paper and the background of the people behind the project and what is the past ICO they join and the most important is the whole fundamentals and roadmaps. |

Investing in a projects during their ICO is the best way because the turnover on your investment will be higher only if the project succeed. In recent time there are so many projects advertising their ICO but unfortunately many of them are scam. Although there are still legitimate ICO but difficult to identify them if you are new in the system. |

Currently most of the profits can be grabbed considering the most hyped ICO only. These are becoming trends now and more and more ICO are coming into the market. By using their promotions you can always earn free money or hard money and in both ways you get pretty good profits out of them. It all depends on the information that you have about the project.
If you are really well informed about the project that has already listed a coin it can be as profitable as choosing a good ICO.
When choosing a ICO first thing is the idea itself and what problems are solved with it.
Next thing is common sense. If everything is not clear by our common sense devs should clarify it without hesitation and roundtrips.
Next is credibility of the team. Only good idea is usualy not enough for success. Some people with experience on the field are most welcome.
And finaly a clear roadmap with milestones.
My opinion:
Yes, ICO is the best way to invest a small ammount of your portfolio i you do a concrete research.

No, ICO is not best way to invest everytime. It depends on project. Too many projects are scam. You have to check team and whitepaper before invest. Investing is risk, if you trust team or project join ICO  But don't forget too many projects exchanges price is lower than ICO's price |

If you are investing in an ICO without researching then ICOs are the worst way to invest your money but if you are doing a proper research and you believe that the project may show growth in future, then PRE-ICOs and ICOs are the best way to earn bonuses and hence are the best way to invest your money.

Exactly right, without research and investigation about the project, that investment would fail easily. Once we make sure the idea is working and persons are real, then it's a great way to invest in it. |

No, it is not the best way to invest. If you believe just because a coin puts out an ICO it somehow legitimises the project then you are wrong. It is so easy now for someone to start an ICO using ETH with fancy graphics and nice sounding roadmaps without actually having to have anything in the pipeline.
There will be good ICOs that can work out but if you look at many of the ICOs over time the majority of them fall below ICO value after getting listed on an exchange as people want to cash out with some profit.
The best way to invest is to evaluate the project and not take into account the fact it is an ICO, there are many projects out there that have not felt the need to raise x amount of money prior to doing anything, a prime example of this is bitcoin itself.
I vote for tiggytobs answer to be the best! 100% agreeing with it. ICO is a very popular but by fare not the best way to invest. I would say its 1 way that offers some kind of transparency but also holds big risk in today's time if you didn't do your homework tho. |
