While using suprnova.cc I noticed that the "retry on connection problem" isn't that reliable. Doesn't matter if it's a pool- or a miner thing, but could you make it configuable to just exit on error.

I'll run some test on suprnova. Did you use ssl to connect to suprnova?
If reconnection is unreliable, I'll make it configurable as a temporal workaround in the next release.

No SSL, just "--server zec-eu.suprnova.cc --port 2142 --user BLABLABLA.RIG1 --pass d=2048"

Just a small update.

There is currently a small issue that causes the performance to drop significantly (60%) on large systems when using temp-target - so the performance might be bad for some people currently. It's caused by the high sampling rate I'm using for temperature measurements. The driver starts to cause high latencies on systems with many GPUs, this was unexpected. Since I'm controlling the performance of each GPU based on this measurements I had to rework the temp-controller such that it's working properly with low sampling rates. I'm currently testing a new version, if it passes tests I'll upload it today.

The miner seems pretty stable now - I've already worked out the technical details of the windows port. I expect to have a working version in 1-2 weeks.

New Version 0.4.5

fix: bad miner performance when using --temp-target
on systems with many GPUs
reduce temperature controller cpu usage

I've redesigned the controlling loop - it has some important improvements. You might test the new temperature controller design by setting different --temp-target values and observe the controlling behaviour with nvidia-smi. I recommend to to set your fan speed to 100%, it's important to have an constant fan speed value since otherwise you'll get two controlling loops (fan controller + temp controller) with feedback which might produce unpredictable performance results.

Thought I'd share some OC settings after running a few tests

These are for 1070s running on nvOC v19

  • Power Limit: 118w
  • Core Overclock: 110
  • Mem Overclock: 600

With these settings I'm getting the following results on a 7 GPU (4 different 1070 models) rig...

Avg. Sol.   3146.0
Avg. I/s     1683.8
Avg. Sol/W   3.82

Temps are between 49c and 61c with fans at only 48%

is this miner built in the nvOC distro now ?

I'm not familiar with nvOC, it's probably best to ask this on the nvOC thread.

wait for  windows version too.
i check it
zcash - 280sol on GTX 1060 3Gb, same as in another miner.
with overclock - 290sol

I dont understand miners used windows for mining.
Linux is better os for any good miner soft and it's stable os. Windows is for novices (windoze-only nicehash etc)

I run both and I had more crash (well I had zero with Windows 10) with Linux.
Both have cons and pros.
That "noob" OS thing is just silly IMO.

~5% difference (2% should be fee)

For next version i vote for API support ;-)
Btw, nicehash doesnt work very well with your miner. (extranounce support is missing)

Thx for the numbers, Sol/W looks pretty good.

Dev fee is exactly 2%. If you can't reproduce this number on your pool after running it long enough you should ask your pool why you're missing 3% - 3% are significant. This is why I'm calculating an average, it's there so that you can check the pool numbers.

I'll add extranounce support in the next version.
API will be there in one of the next releases.
