no one is easy to understand, all cryptocurrencies are complicated and background knowledge requirement in the computer science.

Easiest to use... for what?

Buying and selling? Using a smart contract? Investment? Sending payments with low fees?

Easiest to use is steem.  Your blog account has a wallet yet you could use the blog without talking about your spending crypto once all while earning crypto for posts and upvotes.

Easiest to understand? This is still a large barrier to break.

to understand and to use are two different topics in my opinion.

to understand cryptocurrencies is like trying to understand how a plain flies, the aerodynamics or the engine works before you use an airplane to travel!!!
it is technical stuff, and you don't even need to understand them to be able to use these things.

in order to use two things are needed:
- a user friendly wallet
- somewhere to use or spend it
the only cryptocurrency that has two is bitcoin! there are many wallets from web accounts like coinbase to light wallets like Electrum that you can run on any device even your phone with same settings or even seed.
and i don't have to say how many places are accepting bitcoin, we all know that.

in comparison the altcoins' wallets are mostly crappy. they are full nodes. there are rarely light clients or easy to use ones. and there are no place to use any of them anyways!
