I have been running several TNT nodes and I am trying to find other project with a similar concept. I am not interested in running standard "coin" staking node, but actually node that support some decentralized project with a real product and usage.

Can anybody advise any similar project where such node can be run for passive income?

To answer your question - yes, you do. However, I would recommend you to run Tierion node on VPS as usual for any other masternodes. You simply start it up and let it do its job while checking online status from time to time.

I registered 10 nodes last time and still no one rewards! But theoretical should be 2,5 rewards per month. Also I see more and more message from people which registered nodes early

I'm not sure what your concern is for running out of tokens? I believe no more coins will be created outside of the 1 billion total supply. A certain amount has been set aside for rewards to incentivize node operation which should last many years. Outside of that, you generally wouldn't want more tokens created as it would dilute the money supply. Any demand increase should be reflected by token price increases.

If you see that your node is validating blocks, then you are most likely good to go assuming you have the 5k TNT minimum balance in the attached wallet. You can't directly check to see if a node is passing audits for rewards eligibility at this time. The current reward system is a complete random lottery. The rewards queue will not be implemented til the end of April (per the team), in which case I suspect they will have some type of interface established for properly checking node health.
