Bitcoins drop to 1800 and you sell. You have weak hands. It means you can't handle the pressure so you sell. Now that they're back up those people who sold regret it obviously.

Oh so those guys that are bailing out early? So its seems to me that they are just gambling like placing bets and not really investing? Because they are really affected by the downtrend of the market and immediately exited.

weak hands are people who are afraid of BTC price dropping further than it already has so they sell and cut their losses.

Reasons are:

Impatience
Stupidity
Fear
Need fiat back by certain date

Pretty much, yeah.  Whenever there's a bubble or excessive bull market, a lot of people join near the top out of hype.  These people are members of the public who aren't really used to trading, just like what happened in the dotcom bubble.  Often they're drawn in by media article and friends, and they don't quite understand the losses that it could occur to join in so high in a bull market.

Weak hands are what causes crashes to get worse, because they're not used to seeing their investment fall in value.  In the dotcom crash, people who joined assumed that e-commerce was going to take over the world basically right then, so they were really confused that their stocks could fall in value anyway.

It happens in BTC all the time, because a lot of people who join at the top don't quite understand it properly, and they think when it starts to drop that they might have joined a scam or that BTC can just die and drop to $0.

It is not that they are not investors because some investors will set some target for losses as well. If they reach that target then they will exit and buy back later to avoid more losses. But after selling most of the people will miss entering on a right time. But if you think the future of Bitcoin is good then shouldn't worry much about these fluctuations.

Hi Guys,

I'm reading around the forums specially in trading and I saw someone said "Weak hands" are shaken. My question is, what does this mean? Thank you.

in my opinion, people which don't have a strong mind to see bitcoin price is drop under $2xxx and then selling bitcoin is including weak hands. in the same time, they doesn't realize that the price will be back normal again and they don't realize this and makes them to sell with fast. but if they realize, they will still hold no matter the price is drop, they will buy back in lower price and keep holding on the bitcoin until the price is increase again. so please remember, no matter the price is drop, you don't have to be panic and remember that the price will be up soon, maybe its just for correction price before the price is increase more.

Weak hand means that those people who are willing to sell whenever they see some bad movements, fuds scattered, psycho minded and everything negative you can describe for early sellers. And those people's are always the losers on trades since they will surely missed those pumps and dumps oppurtunities just what happen on past days when bitcoins price go down.

I don't think this have direct meaning , here probably it may have the meanings that we are week to handle this situation in the crypto market because of the down in the market , and here we can look here and there at the point of our hand .
Well these types of the things are common in this forum to talk . You need to see only those direct meaningful things which are making us knowledgful and also giving any lessons to handle such type of situation .
Here we need to remain positive for such things to handle because by saying that condition is not good is not a solution for the situation , so more better here for us is that follow the basic guidelines in this field to handle the market for ownself .

I have not come across such world's in this forum but one can easily interpret "weak hands" to mean panicking. Many amateurs traders sell out of panic when the price pull back a little and the only do buy high and sell low were are the revised is the case.

Hi Guys,

I'm reading around the forums specially in trading and I saw someone said "Weak hands" are shaken. My question is, what does this mean? Thank you.

it's an analogy for trader whose can not holding their coin for longterm because of problem, issue or something like that.
let me explain it a bit about it ;
Weak,it does not need to explain because the meaning of this word is 'weak' itself,
Hands,it was part of our body which is have a function for holding (on of the function),in trading holding that mean keeping your coin for longer
period to get a maximum profit from initial amount.

so the conclusion is,they(weak hands) are shaken because a lot of problem happened and they started to panic about it.opened a thread about what happen and how long it will happen, asking about will it recover and any others which is will lead them to sell their holding(most of trader likely do this when they're panicking that's why it called 'weak hands')

As far as I am concerned, there has not been any drop right now... If you mean the previous, that the price declined around 1000 USD, then it was obvious fear... That's why these people have "weak hands" I would say  Undecided

Weak hands doesn't only applicable to bitcoin but also to any existing crypto currency coin.

If know and trust a certain coin you will stay from keeping it, even your investment you cast from it turned negative.

Currently I made a wrong move by making trade of bitcoin to altcoin while in bitcoin correction. As the result my coin dumped now at negative 40% profit. Waiting for my bags to recover.

It is simply referring to people who can't bear risk.
Those who get panic soon when the bitcoin price go down they fear that their investment can be crash and they can face loses due to which they sell their bitcoin. It is very easy to understand, anyway best of luck. This post is by a strong hand person. Wink

I'm sure weak hands shaken before the price of bitcoin dropped to $1800 rate. Because of course when the selling started out of Panick situation has led to dilution of bitcoin volume and ultimately making it unsustainable in the market to keep up the price of $2800 which was previous mark of the bitcoin.

They simply can't take the negative portfolio that is why they decide to sell it without realizing that market is always like that. The usual people who does this are the one who's new in trading that easily gets affected by negative news. I have my share of this kind of situation too when I was still starting.

As I understand about the term weak hands, those are for people that are easily panicked over news and other stuffs that are related not only related to bitcoin but also to some other matters, even  gambling, games and so many other stuffs. Mostly those terms are given as alias to those people as mentioned earlier.
