Where we obsess over the latest scandals, scammers, and pre-mines. Where new coins are valued more because of how new and profitable they are rather than their benefits to the eco-system. When I first started getting into the Bitcoin craze, I was amazed at it's utility and optimistic mature community. These forums have turned into a strange, chaotic, pessimistic hang out that is driven by pure speculation. All I see and feel here is greed, and I have gotten caught up in it as well. I don't think this is what Satoshi had intended.

When you open Pandoras box, like Satoshi did, what he might have intended would be pretty far from reality no matter what.

I'm wondering, looking at how stable BTC has been staying lately, is this the result of the alternate cryptocurrencies and people trading back and forth? Is this beneficial?

I don't see what is so surprising. This place is becoming a microcosm of the wider world, with all the good and bad things that involves.. greed, fear, deception.. but also community, charity and honesty.. you have to take the rough with the smooth.

No, I think the recent stability of BTC is just a natural consequence of the major correction we had. The price has to consolidate somewhere. I think the price of BTC will remain calm for at least a couple of more months.

I'm in the altcoin business primarily to make more BTC than I would do by mining BTC directly. PS don't tell anyone. Tongue

New favourite sub-forum.  Scammer stories have nothing on this.

Well,  really only one page of drama so far, and as good as it got was "greedy, uncreative cretins...".
