right now global dash hashrate is 36 th and difficulty 1.8~ mil

assuming 30k units were sold  it means 30000X15gh=450000gh

450000gh=450th so global hashrate in december will be 450th for dash in best case

450th/36th=12 so global hashrate will be 12 fold of current hashrate, to know difficulty for dash in december we must multiply  12 to current difficulty, that is 12x1.8mil=21~ mil difficulty

man thats crazy , looks like its not even worth it especially with the recent price crashes of btc and other alts, if you cash out alts and btc to buy D3 or even baikals you will barely break even over a year unless dash goes up 4 fold

If you think Dash will go up you'd be probably better off just buying Dash.

If you think Dash will go down - it could make mining more profitable under certain circumstances. Eventually low Dash price may deter future hardware purchases and slow down difficulty rise. E.g. Bitcoin mining was profitable for a long period in 2015 when the price was low and difficulty was stagnating. So you might mine $5 per day but if it lasts 6 months that's better than $10 a day for two months.

On the other hand Bitmain probably has a nice profit margin that they can use to lower the price to $300 per unit and still make money by flooding the market (and would also kill the resale value of early batches). Antminer S5 cost $350 in January 2015.

I was able to get 20 on the first November batch. Do you guys honestly think that these will be worth buying at this point? I mean its just weird how Bitmain is dumping this many miners onto the market at this point. It makes you wonder if they are worried about the whole economy crashing on their heads and they're trying to get as much money as possible before it does. Just kind of worries me.

On a side note, these could be profitable still if the price goes up to adjust accordingly with the difficulty, right?
