This is not an easy question to answer because there are many factors that affect profitability.  You have to consider the hashrate of the ASICs, the current difficulty (and project future difficulty over time) on the coins it can mine, your electricity rate, the efficiency of the ASICs, and the current conversion rate to BTC... just to name a few.  There are many mining calculators that can help you determine this, but remember that most of the calculators only give you a snapshot of what you can expect right now.  It's very difficult to project future profits.

If you want a safe bet, go with the latest and greatest ASIC for the algorithm that you want to mine, but make sure you get it at a fair price.  The biggest barrier to entry is finding an ASIC on stock or for resale at a fair price.  This is why many miners use GPUs.  They typically have more availability, and can work well for many algorithms, but not all.  This is where you will have to do some research.

I'm not looking for Bitcoin miner, I'm looking for others such as Litecoin, Dash, etc..

The earliest 1st ASIC from the 1st batch released to the public, that you can get your hands on. It doesnt matter what it is, it will be profitable.

Of those that are in the field RIGHT NOW, probably the Bitmain L3+ on Scrypt - but they're sold out MONTHS ahead, I think the next batch to ship is schedualed for September and it's ALREADY sold out (they're currently shipping their "July" batch that was sold out months ago).

Of those that have been ANNOUNCED but are not yet shipping, presuming they meet specs fairly closely and actually show up when they are supposed to, the Innosilicon A5 (30 Gh/s+ X11) looks likely to become the most profitable at least for a short while with the Bitmain D3 (15 Gh/s X11) probably ending up as #2, but I suspect the D3 will cost a fair bit less than the Innosilicon A5 (D3 price has been announced as $2699 but is not available for preorder right at the moment, A5 price has not been announced yet).

(EDIT) A5 price is $9999 - IMO this gives the D3 a pretty good chance of achieving 100% ROI well before an A5 unit can, but if the A5 meets specs it MIGHT pay off more in the long run due to higher efficiency.

Both of those are not shipping for months, and with the new IBelink also in the mix, X11 profitability is going to get HAMMERED once any of these new BIG units starts shipping.

I suspect the Baikal miners will stay profitable for quite a while, as they're semi-close on efficiency to what the D3 announced and not WAY far behind the A5, but it's going to come down to how much new hashrate gets added and how fast and soon - and what DASH price is going to do in the meantime.

Keep in mind that most Scrypt ASIC are still profitable as Bitmain hasn't been able to ship enough L3+ units to keep up on hashrate vs Litecoin price rise over the last 3+ months - this MIGHT happen with X11/DASH as well for a while.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

Baikal miners are the best ones for alt coin mining. The others only promises. Baikal is real power.  Shocked

Although Baikal is about as profitable as the still unreleased units considering they're also almost impossible to find fr sale anywhere near a sane price markup.  Effectively no ASIC you could buy for retail that's actually available won't be worth much.  Best bet is to hold BTC for when the new units finally go up for pre-order.  I still kick myself for not buying in to the first L3+ batches.
